I moved house on 22nd Feb but the stress etc. triggered a short MS relapse which I am over now. Turns out my intarwebz at the new place are a) less than 2mbps and b) awful for dropping the connection all the time and/or timing out. This means that afk macroing is rarely functional and so I am limited to macroing when at the keyboard and that even then the longer macros (like filling a spellbook) fail part way through most of the time and I have to finish the job the macro would have done by hand. This means that I am unable to restock my vendors (and so have not re-placed them as yet) and that existing orders might take me a while to fill. I am so glad that I no longer play (and pay for) WoW. I am chasing my ISP (they promised me 3mbps - 8mbps) and will be back as soon as I can. Gutted, to be honest.
Hey Az, welcome back (nearly)! Glad you are doing mostly well. Sorry the net is blinking out, connection speed should be fine even if it stays at 2Mbps, if it spikes in ping to break macros or if it lags out and disconnects that's no good obviously, hope they get you set right and we get you back soon!
On razor under options there is an object delay timer... odd thing is, it is in use whether you have it turned on OR off. Considering your high latency to the server, increase it from the default of 600ms to 1000 or higher. I suggest moving it in increments of 200. Good luck as I hope this helps you until your internet provider has a chance to improve things for you.
Wylwrk has got the answer. It is the latency and dropped packets that is killing you not the bandwidth. So changing the delay timer may help out quite a bit with your macros. Honestly, you could probably still play UO over a 56k modem. It doesn't use much bandwidth even these days. UO Trace is a good tool to check your latency and connection quality. I hope they can get your connection more solid!
That did the trick thanks! And btw @wylwrk, remember that Q I asked about getting strange "?" and other characters in my speech after running a macro but you could not help me stop it? I just had to turn off "Send to UO" on the Hot Key definition!
