I have 99.1 taming and no plans to GM it.

How hard are they to control?

Not sure how the .9 fits better somewhere else in the template. You could always smear your face in brown or black poo and go to 102.1 if you really really need that .9 for something critical.

I would never bot wyrms at a champ at only gm taming though, I have seen 2 go wild before with the commands every 3 seconds or whatever. I feel 103 is the only safe way if you all kill loop using wyrms.

For farming they will work fine at 99.1-100. However, it's always gonna be when you need them the most when they fail commands (escaping into a gate / or during pvp / or when bosses teleport back and your pets get away doing a zookeeper quest) feed them a couple pieces of gold or meat when they bark at you, and they're wonderfully happy again.

If you just don't want to gm taming cause you would rather not.. you're like an hour or at most two hours away to hit gm, nothing to it but to do it.

An hour or two taming 3rd tamed bulls? I got to 99 so long ago that I have no idea how to GM in the most effective way anymore.

I have .9 wrestle just in case @El Horno tries to PK me.

I honestly wouldn't bother GMing it, the difference is negligible. After reaching 96~ taming or so, I completely stopped macroing and GM'd the rest off taming naturally and didn't really notice any problems controlling pets.

Just spam commands and you'll be fine, remember to feed them so their happiness doesn't drop... And remember that White Wyrms can even eat gold!

I believe this calculator is accurate to UOR as well: https://uo.stratics.com/content/skills/anim.php (select Control Chance)

    99.1 Taming, 100 Lore = 89.2% chance to succeed
    100 Taming, 100 Lore = 92.2% chance to succeed
    102.1 Taming, 100 Lore = 98.2% chance to succeed
103 Taming, 100 Lore = 99% chance to succeed (max)

If you have a +3 mask, there is very little benefit to GM'ing the skill. If not, I think it would be worth your time to GM the skill. Lower command rates get worse and worse if your pet fails a few in a row...

I did 2nd and 3rd tamed bulls on my first tamer
    the other 6... all fresh
    didnt see a difference
took just as long to organize bulls as it would have to tame fresh

And honestly... why have 99.1 and not GM?
If that .9 is really helping something else....

Pump the brakes big rig. You have 7 tamers?

Also .9 I use for cooking cause a guy gets hungry. Ya know? Nice little side of ribs when you’re out hunting all day.

.9 begging , is essential for when tamers are at a PKs mercy. It makes the ghost language OoOoOoO translate. “ fuck you why you kill pets to, they only do 40 dmg fire breaths...gate plz”

    7 tamers here
4 on UOF (quite a bit harder to work there, no afks)
6 tamers on UOSA (quite a bit harder to work there, more griefers)
1 on Paradise Found (pointless to have more than 1 anything)
Had about 22 on retail. not all 7xGM... but could control dragons on all
I ran 5 accounts on retail (no wife, no kids)
