Good morning everyone. IRC is not working as of 11:45am est FEB. 7th. Was just curious if it was on my end or yours. Thank you. This is the error message : [11:44:41] Flash policy problem. If you are the server owner, please read http://redmine.lightirc.com/projects/li ... structions. You need to install a flash policy daemon at eu.chat4all.org (port 843).

This is very likely a side effect of some maintenance that has been on-going on the IRC server since late last night. The IRC network that the #UOR rooms are hosted on, Chat4All, was going through the process of upgrading one of their servers last night, and it was expected to take approximately 30 minutes. There's been rolling disconnections (known as 'netsplits' on irc due to the appearance of half of a channel's occupants usually disappearing when one occurs) since the maintenance started, so I can only assume its not going quite as planned.

Also, just for reference -- Chris and the UOR team do not operate the Chat4All network -- they simply use that existing IRC network for hosting of the channels for us. The network we utilize is entirely owned by the people at http://Chat4All.org.

There have been a few netsplits related to IRC the last few days, along with breaks between the connection of the US/EU chat4all server.

I have also had players report that with a virus or flash software issue they can get this error as well.

I ran a few tests from 5 or so random net addresses and was able to successfully use the online chatroom.

You might also try downloading and using MIRC, as it is free and pretty easy to configure. This will avoid any flash related problems with the web app.

You can see a guide on that here.

Good luck, and if you continue to have problems let us know.
