Item ID other peoples backpacks

    I'm still in my first month here so mabye this is already known. I have gm item ID and I can ID other players backpacks. I dont even have to be next to them.

    Neat bug. Just tested it. You need to be within 9 tiles of the other person and they can't be behind a wall.

    With that said, it's not really a game altering bug. Typically the items in my backpack are ID'd already. If they aren't, then you have my thanks.

    Could affect the ID wand value I think.

    I used to have a dungeon assistant with item ID among other things.

    Yep, it would ID my pack on macro.

    Hell, didn't think of it as a bug at the time. I always wondered why there was ever a market for ID wands.

    yeah i thought this was normal, after i gm'd it i ran around the bank just id'ing peoples packs for them.

    Can you ID whole bags this way?

    The ID wand market still makes sense btw: Any interruption of farming decreases gold per hour. If you have to shuffle 100 stones of items instead of using the time and space to earn some thousands more per Gate back to bank, then the use of wands increases your gp/h significantly.
