It's 2017, UOR should have an official discord

This is the Renaissance era. There should be only one third-party communications tool allowed (besides landline phones): ICQ.

ICQ and Pagoo to let me know when someone's calling me so I can get off the dialup.

Bump from me. Would also like to see a Discord, I much prefer the feature richness and multi-platform space discord is. I feel like it is a lot easier to retain a community there. It might even help with growth. Newer younger players get turned off by IRC. Disord even still has a web client so you wouldn't force people to download anything

Any of the suggesters here ever own/manage a Discord server with 300+ people?

I have 1 with 300. It's not very active though.

I wish we had a more modern chat platform to use, but Chris has some good reasons as to why it should not be Discord. I dunno, IRC seems to work just fine.

Either way, no voice chatting. No. Good luck monitoring that. Plus it would be way to annoying. Voice chat is for a close group of friends.
