    June 11th Fishing Tournament
    dʒɛmɪnaɪ

Ebbed & Flowed 4 million in prizes...
Anyone can enter tournament - no signup required, no entry fee!

(95+ fishing is required to catch a "Big Fish", tis by-catch (loot) of a sea serpent which is caught offshore in deep waters)

Post screenshot of catch in this thread.
Big Fish datestamp must be 6/11/2016 (June 11th, 2016).
Winning fish will be verified ingame so keep fish until end of tourney and don't mount.
Mounting a fish will remove the datestamp.

Fishing Feats: How to win these prizes will not be announced rather awarded to the angler who accomplishes a pre-determined feat. For example, there might be a prize for the angler who turns in the 100th fish. The angler who does the pre-determined action will win the prize. I will be submitting a list of these pre-determined feats and prizes to GM Telamon before the Tournament begins to ensure there isn't a perception of a bias in awarding prizes. My advice is to participate and turn in fish no matter how big or small.

The last Fishing Feat for 555k will be a lottery, based on when the angler turned in their fish. A random number generator will be used to determine the winner. For example, if an angler turned in the 15th fish and the generator produces a 15, that angler wins the prize. Therefore, I suggest posting ALL fish for a better chance at winning.
    14, 12, 27

    Rules:
    * The tournament will be held on Saturday June 11th, 2016. All fish weighed in must have a datestamp on that date. (Note: datestamp is based on UOR server time, US Eastern, -5 UTC)
    * Prizes will be distributed the following week.
    * Fish weighed in will be credited to the angler, not who turns. Anyone can submit fish for any angler. Angler must be present to claim winnings.
    * Use as many fishers as you like. Again, fish is credited to angler marked on fish. (some players use more than 1 fisher)
    * An angler can only place 1 fish in biggest and smallest categories. For example, Fisher X might have a 10 stone and a 12 stone fish however only the 10 stone will be credited in the smallest category. In addition, Fisher X can also place in biggest with a 199 stone fish.
    * No sign up required! Simply post a screen shot of your catch but keep it for prize reward and... DO NOT MOUNT FISH. Mounting a fish will erase datestamp. Fish will need to be verified ingame to collect your prize. Only fish weight will only be recorded. You keep your catch.
    * Anglers tied will split the prizes of the two respective places. For example, Anglers tied for 2nd place will split the winnings for 2nd and 3rd place.

    Notes on Fishing:
Double-click on a fishing pole, then click on a body of water. If successful, you will catch a fish. You might catch something more interesting than a fish. Success with this skill also depends on the availability of fish in that specific area.
0-65 - On land you will fish up Magic Fish, and Normal Fish.
80+ - Sea Serpents (No SoS Message), Special Fishing Nets.
90+ - Treasure Maps 100 - Messages in a Bottle (aka MIB) / Waterstained SoS Message
95+ - You can reel in Big Fish which can be used to make Trophies via Taxidermy Kits.
You can get to 100 skill/Grandmaster fishing from land and monsters will never spawn when fishing from land.
Once you have attained 95+ fishing, acquire a boat. They are player-made (check player vendors, forums, or IRC). You will need a boat to get offshore into deep water to catch Big Fish.

α Gem (Castor): the second brightest in the constellation Gemini after Pollux. Castor is a sextuple star system 52 light-years from Earth, which appears as a magnitude 1.6 blue-white star to the unaided eye. Two spectroscopic binaries are visible at magnitudes 1.9 and 3.0 with a period of 470 years. A wide-set red dwarf star is also a part of the system; this star is an Algol-type eclipsing binary star with a period of 19.5 hours; its minimum magnitude is 9.8 and its maximum magnitude is 9.3.

β Gem (Pollux): the brightest star in Gemini, it is an orange-hued giant star of magnitude 1.2, 34 light-years from Earth. Pollux has an extrasolar planet revolving around it, as do two other stars in Gemini, HD 50554, and HD 59686.

The two bright stars, Castor and Pollux, mark the heads of the two brothers, one mortal and one the son of a god. Their mother was Queen Leda, the father of mortal Castor was her husband King Tyndarus and the father of Pollux was Zeus. They were also brothers to Helen of Troy. As most identical twins are, they were inseperable in both looks and actions. Castor was a famed horseman and Pollux a reknowned boxer. They were famous for being argonauts with Jason on the Argo and and after saving the mighty ship from a wild storm became the protectors of mariners. The ghostly flame of St. Elmo's fire that sometimes appears on ships is also connected to them. One day Castor was killed in a fight. Distraught, Pollux pleaded with Zeus to let Castor reside with him on Mount Olympus. Zeus took pity on his son and placed the brothers in the sky next to each other. The Romans also connected this constellation with Romulus and Remus, the twins who founded Rome.

This will be my first fishing tournament as well. I spent the week preparing a new fisher for this tournament! Do we submit the fish as we catch them? Or do we wait until we have a good candidate for highest/ lowest weight? I saw there were going to be other prizes involved.
