Hail and Well Met, I am Sapharious. You may have seen me around Occllo this last week as Sapharious, Mr Clean, Scarlet, or Wassapattu. Here is my story...

I stumbled across UO Renn about a week ago after the ole UO bug hit me when I tried playing Shards of Aria... you see Shard is basically real 3d UO in another world made by some of the original development team. It went live beta on Dec 4, 2018, the only problem is it reminded me I HATE UO 3D, couldn't play it... I get it.. 2D is expensive in time/cost/power... but it is sooo much nicer imho...

(Sapharious stares off into the distance as if remembering something...)

I started UO on Great Lakes day one 1997 with a potato of a 386 with a 9600 baud modem that allowed me to log into Yew and simply stand there in a running pose... however, what I could see was this cool online world that I wanted desperately to be part of. I ran out the next day and bought a gamer's dream PC... a 486/40Mhz and a 14400 baud modem.. no more eeeEEEeeeEEE.. I not got eeEEeeeeEEEEeee(bing(bing)!!!!! Don't hate, I had a good job working for the local municipality with a couple of hundred dollars of disposable income, but I digress quickly... A week later and I was primed to start on Lake Superior grand opening day one! I played LS through all the good and bad changes of UO and finally walked away from making the monthly payment when I started being forced to use the 3d client (see previous rant) nearly a decade later.

    (Sapharious snaps back)

Like many others, I have always found myself returning to UO 2d. There is, and will never be, anything like it. I have played multiple RunUO servers since then and always seem to catch them in their waning years or before a massive base split... So this time I decided to choose a server that appeared to have three things; 1. Old school "feel", 2. Staying power, and 3. No gaudy neon rewards... UO Renaissance seemed to fill all and much MORE! I plopped into Ocllo and literally couldn't stop smiling for an hour.

I believe I have finally found a place to call home again. I have a couple more old timers that may follow me here too. There is a slight possibility that I bring the angel of doom and UO Renn will close it's doors in a few months... if this happens you can blame me.

P.S. You may at times see one of my characters apparently talking to themselves at the bank.. rest assured, they are all crazy.

    TL : DR...
Hi, I am Sapharious. I am UO OG and think I will like UO Renn.

Heh I actually kind of liked the original 3d client. I guess a lot of people didn't though... The next expansion let you go to the UO3D world in the 2d client.
