I just killed this beast out here trying to stay in the lead of the fishing tournament. Has anyone else seen this beast before. I did not see it in the PVM leaders board. Also just killed my first ship wrecked kraken.

This was a new monster added in Patch 42 as part of the fishing net upgrade. I've just yet to get around to adding it to the compendium. It should be there soon.

At the risk of sounding too critical. . . Does the name "lochness" bother anyone else? There's no Loch Ness in Britannia and if there were wouldn't they be there instead out in the ocean? I mean, Blinky the three-eyed fish wouldn't hurt my suspension of disbelief any more than the "lochness monster." At the very least it should be two words just to be grammatically correct. Might I suggest "leviathan" since it's a very general term and it's biblical origin makes it just as familiar as the Loch Ness monster to most. Alternatively, we could append the name in classic UO style (e.g. ancient sea serpent, dread sea serpent.)

I have to agree with Godric. Loch Ness seems a little odd to me as it lives in the ocean.

I saw bigfoot deep in the Yew wilderness. I swear. The thing must have been as large as 4 black bears!

Technically speaking, I did suggest he name it the Lock Lake monster. A bit of a gag really, because there is a Lock Lake in Ultima lore, but alas, if the sightings prove otherwise...

I agree with Godric, change the name as it did annoy me when I first saw it.

Boom, case closed. The beast is named accordlingly to the Ultima enriched lore we've established for it.

There is no such thing as the Loch Ness Monster.

I wish I would have taken a screen shot, my hillbilly mind went straight to ol' locki, not sure if it was ness or not I was too busy killin' the bastard. Squabbling about names aside it was a fun kill and I look forward to stickin' a harpoon in one's ass again.

In the patch notes Telamon calls it "Lock Lake", however:

This does not mean it could have been stealth patched.

For the screenshot it was named Loch Ness Monster. However after some research into the Ultima Lore players suggested we name it the Lock Lake monster. The name was changed before the patch was applied.

    I can live with that.

Still seems like he should be found in a lake, though. . . .

Lock Lake is more of a bay now, in the ever changing realm of Britannia. The lands have shifted many times over the ages and as such, the lake is open to the seas through various waterways. :p

Based on the descriptions, it would either be the bay of Cove, or that inlet just NE of Compassion desert.

Yeah, I read your lore link, Blaise. It was like a pthalate coating on the pill that makes it all easier to swallow.
