   When a non-bonded pet dies, you can loot the corpse without issue. When a bonded pet dies, it is a criminal act. The main issue with this is pack animals, obviously.
   
   (May be intended to prevent some exploit of bonded animals, but if so should be reviewed for pack animals)

   People where exploiting the bonding system so they put in some controls to stop that
