So I was murdered, and when I came back to computer, I see the gump asking if I wanted to report the murder. I also so I lost connection, so when I log back on, the gump is gone and I'm unable to report the murdering bastard. The gump to report the murderer should return upon logging back in. And to the guy who murdered me, I saw your name and frustrating days are coming your way.

I believe some other shards had this mechanic, and it was abused by holding the murder count window almost infinitely, so that if the player ever reached 4 murder counts (Which you can see on the website), you could report them in a town and have them instantly guardwhacked.

I need a blessed runebook. I don't mind being murdered, I just want the murderer brought to justice, not getting a free kill with no consequences.

So be it. Actions come with consequences. I find it strange that people hate thieves more than murderers.

The thing is, murderers' action are open, easily seen, and not technically complicated to combat. A red runs up to you and tries to kill you, you have a good chance to run away, or to fight back. Era accurate thieves (which don't exist here); however, their actions are not apparent. You can try to fight back only to realize you don't have your bandages or mandrake. Or you turn around to kill them and poof, your vanq axe that was in your hands is now gone. It's not hard to fight thieves, but it takes more knowledge and preparedness.

People are right to hate thieves, which is why playing them is so much fun.

A good murderer will kill you, loot a bag of regs, a weapon, some armor, a few potions and some runes in most scenarios.

Whereas a good thief will find out where you live, stalk you down, and steal everything not locked down.
