    Hi all,

I've been testing the Iris 2.0 3D client on the shard and really love the perspective it gives while playing and I was encouraged to share this with the community because there may be some of you that would like to try it out.

1)Download and Install UO RENAISSANCE CLIENT
2)Download and Install in a separate folder other than program files the UL MONDAIN'S LEGACY CLIENT http://www.fileplanet.com/156570/download/Ultima-Online:-Mondain's-Legacy-Client/
3)Copy and Paste the Models folders from Mondain's to the UO Renaissance Client folder
    4)Download and Install Iris 2.0 Setup.exe from http://www.iris2.de/index.php/Download
    5)Run Iris 2.0 Setup.exe
6)Run Iris 2.0. It will ask you where the Map0. Mul files is. Direct to the UO Renaissance client folder
    A. After that click "Add Shard" Give a name. Type login.uorenaissance.com for host 2593 for Port. Click Ok
    B. It will ask you for your login information. Type that and be sure check the "Save Pw" box
    C. Click 3D and then you will see UO begin to load (Depending your internet speed/Computer) it takes a few seconds.

    Then you will be IN!!

    Controls are here: http://www.iris2.de/index.php/Controls

Basically: Zoom and Tilt Center mouse wheel
    Right button for moving forward

    Pressing "C" changes Camera

    1. Third person Zoom and tilt
    2. Free moving camera
    3. FIRST PERSON with Tilt

Yep. I have a trackball mouse which makes it easier to control your character. Here are the steps and links I used:

    1) Download UO ML: http://games.mirrors.tds.net/pub/ea-g...
    2) Download latest UO classic: http://uo.com/Client-Download
    3) Download Iris2: http://sience.schattenkind.net/Iris2.zip
    4) Install UO ML
    5) Install UO classic
    6) Patch UO completely (just launch from desktop shortcut)
    7) Copy/Replace ALL files from C-games-ea-UO classic to C-programfiles86-ea-mondainslegacy EXCEPT tiledata.mul
    8) Install Iris2
    9) Run Iris
    10)Add Shard login.uorenaissance.com port 2593

How stable is the client? Is it buggy, does it crash at all?

That looks really cool. Can you use razor with it? Does it run in both full screen and windowed mode?

    1. Never really crashed it lags a little around banks but is very good as far as stability

    2. Using mouse to control takes time to do but it has three modes by pressing "C"
    A. Normal 3rd person mode where you can Tilt, Zoom, Do circles, etc.
    B. Moveable camera. You will stay in same place and you can move the camera whereever you want!
    C. First Person. You will view the world in the first person. No Zoom and regular movement using (Very tricky to get used but cool nonetheless)

    3. I don't know how to set up Razor with it. You may be able to .

    4. It will run in Windowed and Full screen by adjusting that in the Options menu in Iris 2.0 initial screen

It reminds me of getting used to the camera in Neverwinter Nights 2 (Played AT LEAST 200+ hours :) So if you have played that game, you will know what I am talking about. A lot of reseting of the camera and views.

A trick to lock the camera in place is to type a letter in the chat by pressing "enter" and type a letter. That freezes the view and does help.

I love it, is there a development team to run updates on it? No offense, but the dragon being that small is lame. I am going to download this when I get the chance though.

Its funny because I was just thinking about starting to play UO with an xbox controller and I think with this set-up it will actually be perfect for it.

Those Dragons weren't lame to me when I saw them burst through that gate for the first time in my LIFE!! I was stunned!

No development team. This is the final release and they have shutdown development, I know I am enjoying it so give it a shot.

Its not disorienting for me because I am used to seeing the games I play in 3D :)

Perhaps it may be disorienting for a long-timer of UO but I have been only playing for 2 days, so I am not a good judge...lol

I'll do the same. Actually, I've got two houses, so make it 25k each if you have the time!

I wonder if fortresses will show up in the client?

Thanks and that is a concern. Is there any player housing on Occlo? I am going to run around it right now in Iris. I'll post some Photo's in a few minutes..

Yes, only traditional OSI houses. The only client modifications for UOR that I know of are the fortress and large keep, which won't fit on Ocllo.

For some reason it doesn't see all of the walls :( don't know what causes that. I am certainly willing to look at your houses though (Should be cool)

Ok, it'll be nice to see. I am going to research why. I think it may have something to do with it only seeing original constructs. We'll see.

Yes. It is a bit unwieldy but it gives nice options on the views.
