Night of Horrors 2 - The City of the Dead - Event Guide

    Continuing our tradition of overachieving on holiday events we are proud to announce the latest expansion to the Night of Horrors Halloween event. Unlike the classic Night of Horrors event which takes place in a protected arena as a challenge of players vs monsters. This event will be the polar opposite.

    Players hunting undead creatures around the world will have anywhere from a 1 in 20 to a 1 in 5 chance (varies based on creature) to have a special gate open when they defeat an undead minion.

    Taking the gate will lead you to one of four safe zones inside the City of the Dead giving you a moment to prepare for the dangers ahead. All over the world as players are defeating the undead hordes gates will be opening to one of these random entrances.

    Note: You must be alive to use the moongate and not have an event restriction on your account. Young players may also not use these gates.

    Once inside the city of the dead you may take as much time as you wish to prepare. A variety vendor is provided at each entrance with amply essential supplies should you be short on anything.

    Be warned however once you leave the safe zone you will be entering a felucca dungeon and will not be able to return to the safe zone.

    Each player will get 25 minutes inside the dungeon (this may change). Every 30 seconds a small gump will be sent to each player in the dungeon letting them know how much time they have left in the dungeon before they are expelled magically.

    Note: If you move this gump to a location on your screen, it will always be sent to that location when being refreshed (otherwise it will appear in the upper left corner)

    Players can view their personal accomplishments while in the dungeon by clicking the down arrow on the small timing gump or by typing *Bracket*noh anytime while online. Your personal statistics will persist through all runs at the dungeon. Every entry to the dungeon, total time in the dungeon, deaths inside, and everything you kill will be recorded. Towards the end of the event various awards will be announced for stand out performances during this event.

    Players may leave the dungeon by one of two methods. Once your time is up. Or via the Leave option from the larger score gump.

    When leaving the dungeon all of your pets, and your most recent corpse will follow you to the event lobby.

    The leave function has the following restrictions.
    - It cannot be used by someone who is flagged as a criminal. You must wait out the criminal flag in order to use this exit.
    - It cannot be used by someone who has died in the last 30 seconds.

    Critical Note: When leaving the dungeon only your most recent corpse will follow you to the event lobby. The staff will not assist you with recovering corpses left inside the dungeon. If you die and would like to recover your corpse wait the 30 seconds and make use of the leave function. Your most recent corpse and pets will follow.

    For some reason should a pet be left behind in the event you can summon the pet to you using the recover pets function. This only works on pets inside the dungeon, while you are outside the dungeon.

    Staff Note: These features were necessary to create a fun, but high risk dungeon that runs on an eternal timer. Players can be attacked and immediately tag the leave function to escape in a hurry. Criminal wills face the added danger of not being able to escape while criminal. If you die you run the risk of someone having their way with your corpse for 30 seconds. This is the first event of this type anywhere in the UO Freeshard universe and we will be monitoring it closely to refine it over the event period and for the future.

    There are over 55 monsters available to hunt during the event each with their own rare drops, and in some cases super rare drops only found in this dungeon.

    While inside the dungeon players will have to figure out the secrets that lie within, which monsters control which areas and how to proceed. Some clues are available however. Each entrance to the dungeon has 7 specifically placed candles. Each candle is named after a specific area in the dungeon. While these candles are lit it will indicate that the boss of this area is currently on the prowl.

    In each major area players can find champion platform like locations with more skull candles indicating stage 1-4. These serve as clues to how that area is progressing along towards spawning the boss of the area.

    Some additional candles are placed in the central plaza indicating the progress towards . . something that players will have to discover on their own.

    Staff Note: While this event was designed as a high conflict, difficult, felucca experience. We have implemented a system to block accounts from the new content should they intentionally try to ruin the experience for others or exhibit behavior that does not represent Renaissance and a positive manner.
    Such as
    - Excessive verbal abuse of other players.
    - Abusing, rather than reporting edge mechanics with the new system.
    - Attempting to entrap players leaving the dungeon entrances.
    - Other situations that common sense would indicate would be a bad idea in accordance with our normal rules

    New Event Troubleshooting
    - When the final boss is defeated it is resetting the Necromancer Boss's Progress candles instead of the entrance candles.
    Note: This has no impact on the Necromancer progress at the time, only the candles might trigger oddly.
    - When the final boss is defeated the entrance candles indicating the final boss is alive are not resetting.
    - Dr. Frankenstein decided to be a bit shy so he is now on a timed spawn rotation until the next patch.
    - Separated the spawn rates for the mini boss class creatures from the standard support monsters.
    NOte: Mini Boss's will spawn every 2.5 to 5 minutes per spawner. Support monsters will respawn around every 1-2 minutes.
    - The Royal Mummy's Temple Guard is current dropping the wrong item (a skull, instead of his spear)
    Note: Players will be able to obtain the correct spear using the fix it vendor, or keep the incorrect drop as a goofy rare
    - The bustier of domination is spawning with the incorrect name. This will be fixed in the next patch.


    Changes
    - Added a resurrection area between the Undead town on the rest of the dungeon.

    Exit NoH dungeon instantly macro. Keep this on hotkey and you can farm with your nice slayers.

    Yep. Took a bit to get everything configured. Still a bit of tweaking and decor to finish but overwise running as planned.

    LHC almost every player run library has a GY book, try those and see what you like. Occlo library behind the stables definitely has one on the roof.
    Nujelm GY is close to the moongate, so it is nice for dexxers with low mangery.
