When T2A first opened up I remember heading through the fire dungeon to gain access since I banked in Serpents Hold (my favorite city by far). I remember getting in over my head and getting killed on the level two by the evil mages. Once I regained my belongings I killed the evil mage lord and his robe was a really really dark color. Not the pure black or shadow. Oh and I remember you could almost dye it with the special dye tubs but couldn't get it perfect. Also the dark red color I didn't see it either. Again you could almost dye it but not perfect. Anyway, I know its not that big of a deal but Im curious why those don't spawn anymore or are they just more rare on this server? -Cheers to this server!
datapoint to staff: 1156 (blue special dye cloth) and 1157 (red special dye cloth) each occupy an enormous amount of color space. http://nerdism.net/hues/index/1156 http://nerdism.net/hues/index/1157 on the palette select blue and drag near the lower-right-hand corner until 1156 comes up and explore the area around it a bit. there's a ton of space where dark-blues could be added. i wrote some queries and came up with a list of prospective hues that 1) are not being used (to my knowledge) 2) are "dark blueish" 3) occupy color-space near the common bod cloth 1156 vaccuum hue 1093 (rgb(0, 0, 96)) hue 1261 (rgb(0, 0, 112)) hue 1074 (rgb(0, 0, 80)) hue 1084 (rgb(0, 0, 72)) hue 1152 (rgb(0, 0, 144)) hue 1262 (rgb(0, 0, 160)) common bod cloth 1157 (red) has this same problem, and here are some unused red hues in that color space which are suited for evil mage robes hue 1141 (rgb(112, 40, 16)) hue 1148 (rgb(96, 48, 24)) hue 1149 (rgb(72, 32, 16)) hue 1090 (rgb(144, 16, 24)) hue 1190 (rgb(88, 56, 16)) hue 1147 (rgb(104, 56, 40)) as a side note and for players' information, i currently have obtained the following from evil mages (shades of brown and grey): { 1812, 1820, 1821, 1826, 1838, 1841, 1843, 1844, 1871, 1873, 1874, 1880, 1883, 1884, 1892, 1894, 1900, 1906, 2401, 2404, 2405 } HUE VACCUUMS ARE A SERIOUS PROBLEM HUE SCIENCE
Dang, Looks like it is just not available on this server. Oh well - I did find some really nice dark greys that are available in BOD cloth. Now I just need to start a tailor or make friends with one. Probably make one…Cash to be made. EDIT : The blue 1156 is not the correct color but the red looks to be correct.

there were about three dozen shades of dark blue that the mages spawned with. i used to farm them specifically to cut up the robes on siege perilous and i would sell the cloth to roleplayers. the red robes that the normal mages spawned with were awesome too

To my knowledge only one NPC drops 1109 clothing which can be cut into cloth to make other cloths. It is Lord Xerxes the Black Mystic - Which is the boss mobs in the evil mage towers that spawn in T2A. There are 3 types of bosses that can spawn in these towers: Lord Xerxes the Black Mystic Lord Fenic the Holy Archmage Lord Jamkul Shieldheart Not sure why but the 3 types come up under the same information page on web site http://www.uorenaissance.com/info/TowerDefender
It's not worth your time to cut them right now because they all yield a single yard when cut, for now. I mean, maybe it's worth it to you, but I wouldn't bother just yet.
My guildmate and I used to farm those black mage lord robes. I have since learned it is indeed Hue 1109 but I've not seen them on Renaissance. Although our guild colours on Atlantic were white and purple, we did let people wear the black robes instead for a bit of fun. I also played Siege from '99 to 2001. Who were you on Siege Mordechai?
