No sound from client

Hi Forum,

I've experienced a problem twice with my client now, it for some reason does not produce sound effect, however will happily play music. I have tried reinstalling, uninstalling and reinstalling, restarting.

The other day when I had this problem I closed down for the night, came back the next day after doing nothing further and it worked again. I have had it working since today and again it has stopped working.

I know someone else from the IRC channel has also had the same issue however the name escapes me currently.

Has anyone any idea what this problem is? I tried searching the forums but came up with nothing.

It self resolved and has reappeared again, restarted and no change

Fixed it, 5.1 surround sound with appropriate headphones, when I plug it in, no game sounds, when I switch to stereo output it works. When I switch back to 5.1, it stops working unless I unplug headphones.
