    • Happy Halloween Renaissance
      • The Halloween Festivities will begin on October 20th. This will consist of a challenge event and an overworld event.

    • Holiday Vendor Update
      • The Holiday Vendor has been updated with new items.
      • These items can be purchased with holiday coins that you can earn during the Halloween Events.
        • Jack O Lantern Deed
        • Grave Dust, Brimstone,Eye of Newt
        • Trick or Treat Bucket
        • Closed Wooden Coffin House Addon
        • Open Wooden Coffin House Addon
        • Halloween Mask Dye (Hue 144 or 244)
        • Halloween Sandals (Hue 44,144 or 244)

    • Animal Lore
      • Updated the Animal Lore Gump to provide more specific information regarding the pet bonding process.
      • Disabled the ability to determine bonding status for a pet you do not control.
      • Bonding Status Messages
        • "This pet is already bonded with you"
          Indicates that the targeted pet is already bonded with you
        • "You lack the skill to establish a bond with this pet."
          Your taming skill is currently below the amount required to start the bonding process
        • "You should try feeding your pet to begin to bond with it."
          This pet needs to be fed any of its desired foods in order to start the bonding process
        • "You must spend more time with your pet."
          7 days has not passed since you successfully started the bonding process with this pet.
        • "This pet craves peculiar meat"
          You need to feed your pet enough peculiar meat to enabled pet bonding. (The same as control slots required)
        • "This pet is ready to be bonded."
          This pet is ready to bond the next time you successfully feed it food that it likes.
      • Anti AFK System
        • Resolved a problem with afk checks related to farm-able items that are out of reach.
        • Corrected a problem with an abnormally low flagging rate for collecting bulk order deeds.
      • House Add-ons
        • Created two new add-ons, a closed 3 part coffin, and an open 3 part coffin with skeleton
        • Created a new add-on, the jack of lantern.
        • Both add-ons can be placed and chopped in a house without restrictions.
        • Adjusted the add-on system to allow the jack-o-lantern to be placed in non standard locations.
      • Boats
        • Implemented a temporary fix for a problem allowing boats to navigate to close to each other while the plank is down.
        • You will no longer be able to move a boat while a creature or player is standing on the plank.

      • Corpses
        • Resolved a problem in which you could not carve corpses with no resources to remove them.
          Players will now be able to destroy all monster corpses once they are cleaned off, by carving them twice.
        • Resolved a lingering problem in which carved player heads were not correctly linked to a murderer and able to be turned in for a bounty.
      • Counselor Program
        • Adjusted the data selections for new players to be 1,2,3,10 days vs the old system.
      • Commands
        • Added a new command News - This opens up the Patch notes and server news section of the profile gump
        • Added a new command Profile - This allows you to access your character profile, platinum wallet and website links for that character.
        • Added a new command Info - This allows you to adjust the color of your guild and alliance chat as shown in your journal. This Section also allows you access to all of the help articles available in the young program.
        • Added a new command Register - This allows you to register your account, used for password changes and recovery.
        • Added a new command Links - Allows access to a variety of quick links for the Renaissance Server.
      • Crafting
        • Disabled the ability to craft items if your backpack is full
        • Added this for Alchemy, Tailoring, Blacksmithing, BowCraft/Fletching, Carpentry, Cartography, Masonry, Tinkering
          • Implemented the correct timers for crafting alchemy items (3.1 seconds)
          • Implemented the correct timers for crafting Tailor items (4.5 seconds)
          • Implemented the correct timers for crafting Bowcraft items (1.7 seconds)
          • Implemented the correct timers for crafting Carpentry items (3 seconds)
          • Implemented the correct timers for crafting Cartography items (3 seconds)
          • Implemented the correct timers for crafting Cooking items (1.5 seconds)
          • Implemented the correct timers for crafting Masonry items (1.7 seconds)
      • Detect Hidden
        • Resolved a bug that in certain cases would detect a player in a nearby house when you were detecting in your house as a friend.
      • Escorts
        • Reduced the distance in which a NPC will detect a player and say their need for an escort
        • Implemented a limiter to the messages that escorts say when a player moves nearby.
        • Escorts will now only speak once every 15 seconds.
        • Escorts will no longer provide services on credit for Blaise.
      • Event System
        • Designed a completely new event arena to be used for Challenge, CTF and Tournaments.
        • Designed the arena in a way that allows PvP duels to take place in pens, that limit the participants view of other players while allowing spectators to watch the fight.
        • Created a new system of allowing players to see the status event progression. From signups to event duration to lobby clearing timer. This clock can be found in several places in the arena.

      • Guild Chat
        • Correctly implemented Guild chat for the T2A/UOR Era, removing the temporary system we had in place allowing it to work, albeit slowly.
        • Players can now customize the color of their guild chat as shown in their journal using the info command.
        • This affects the color shown when you receive a message or read a message in the journal.
        • To change the color when typing a message you still adjust that from your client using the options menu (alt-O)

      • Guards
        • Implemented a Line of Sight check for NPC's to notice criminal activity and act upon it
      • Forensic Evaluation
        • Forensic evaluation when used on a thief who is currently flagged as perma grey will now provide the player with the following message;
          "That individual is a thief and a wanted criminal"
        • When using on a guilded thief that has not stolen an item from an innocent since his last death the following will be indicated;
          "That individual is a thief!"
      • Items - General
        • Resolved a problem with the localization converter for shipwreck items fix a missing space.
        • Allowed the Mask dyes available from Halloween to assign a custom name to any mask they are used on. "Halloween Mask"
        • Peculiar meat will now be less likely to drop from boss monsters.
      • Items - Rare Class
        • Implemented a variety of new rare items to replace the static items in the world allowing website indexing.
        • Resolved a problem with water bucket containers, sending a double click action, on a single click, when empty.
      • Items - Repair Deeds
        • Resolved a problem with the single-click naming on repair deed contracts.
        • Repair deeds will now be labelled with the skill level of the craftsman along with the type of repair.
        • Extended the range in which a repair contract can be used to 12 tiles from a related NPC.
          Note: This will be converted to proper region checks in the future.
      • Mounts
        • Removed the ability to ride a mount if the mount is currently engaged in combat.
      • Slayers
        • The list of creatures which can offer slayer items (weapons or instruments) as potential loot has been expanded greatly. These changes are an addition to the already existing creatures which may currently provide these items as loot.
        • A 7th slayer group has been introduced: Fey Slayer

      • Strandedness
        • Converted the Strandedness system to using specific locations rather than a random range of world locations.
        • This system would teleport you to land when you logged in somewhere invalid, like on water. In rare situations this system could place you in a players courtyard.
        • Now in the same situation you will be teleported to the nearest town docks.
      • Stealing
        • Adjusted the chance when stealing to be noticed by players and NPC's.
          Note: The default runuo mechanics were applying a static formula that did not take into account the weight of the item, type of the steal, and the NPC's nearby. The new forumla properly accounts for the weight of the item, allowing items that weigh less easier to be stolen unnoticed, while heavier items harder to be stolen without being noticed.
          A future patch will implement further refinement based on players and npc's in the surrounding area, reducing the chance to be detected with no one around, and increasing it in heavily populated areas.
        • Added a line of sign check to NPC's calling guards on players.
          Note: NPC's will no longer see through walls to notice a player stealing an item.
        • A successful theft of an item from an innocent player will now result in the thief flagging properly as a criminal, regardless of whether they were noticed by a NPC.
        • The victim will now be provided with a specific message in the case an item is stolen from them.
        • Players nearby will still see the "You notice...." message as expected if the thief is noticed during his stealing attempt.
      • Traveling
        • Players can no longer travel to regions specifically marked as Cannot Enter.
        • This includes locations such as green acres, empty dungeons, ctf arenas, and other various zones the staff has designated unable be entered directly.
        • Applied this change to the recall spell and gate travel spell.
      • Young Program
        • Added a new command to the young menu allowing young players to travel directly to the occlo moongate.
      • Event Managment Assets
        • Created a variety of command and control modules for our updated event system.

    Don't see tinkering or blacksmity in the timers list. Were they updated and if you don't mind, what is their correct timer?

    Did some rares get "retired" then?
    Will we get to see a list of the new rares or are we on our own? :)
    Did they all initially spawn last night after the patch?

    ReZon I think they took that list of old statics they had in players hands and made an equivalent item of the type Rare___. They wanted to let us know when it happened so when people look at the item database they aren't wondering where a ton of new rares suddenly came from.

    Then they have to do the harder part which is track down who owns them and exchange them.


    I could be wrong tho..

    If I'm not mistaken there is a plan to track down "unused" rares but I think that will be an automated system (the tracker) which is yet to be coded so will be a future patch. I would hope the rares are periodically re-introduced via events but we'll see how it goes. :)

    Not sure why I listed those, but for this patch they remained unchanged. Blacksmithing is 1.7 seconds and Tinkering is 3 seconds.

    No rares were retired, just over the shards history some rares/uniques were released as static items, rather than items that exist with a coded constructor. These items export to the website simply as statics with no other information. By creating the items properly in the BaseRare subclass we can apply the general properties of the Rare Class and have them export to the website properly.

    In a future update down the road we will add a tool to give you information on each item, along with a link to its item database page. This change will help make that possible.

    Using the [Info command, you can change the color there. Since the 5.0.8.3 client only supports changing the guild color as typed, we had to add this journal color option to our internal profile gump.

    Yep, I did this exactly first thing this morning when i logged back on after the disconnect.

    The gump pops up and allows me to change the color and the system message even changes color when it tells me "your guild chat will now be this color"

    However, typing in guild chat still results in a gray color through the actual game and in journal as well.

    What client version are you using? If your using something other than 5.0.8.3 you might need to set the color in the client side options screen.

    Update: Got a few other reports of this so I am looking into it.

    I found and resolved the bug with the guild chat coloring. I mistakenly assumed a packet was being reset for each player resulting in the messages inheriting the hue setting from only the guild master.

    This will be resolved in the next patch and we are working on a temporary fix to at least set everyone to the correct green hue until then.

    Added slayer documentation for the changes included with patch 43

    Executioners & Grand Visor of Chaos were overlooked & are missing from the Repond group, this will be corrected in the next patch

    Those creatures don't naturally fall into a slayer category & as such are unaffected by them.
