Curious to know which bod's give these? So was I! Here's a short list of bods I've done which have rewarded me a gargoyle shovel. So far I'm inclined to believe they share space on the grid with gargoyle pickaxes, but I don't have enough data to make such a sweeping claim. Feel free to add your own experience/theory. 15 Buckler, iron, exceptional--Dull Copper gargoyle shovel 15 Ringmail gloves, iron, exceptional--Shadow Iron gargoyle shovel 20 Spear, exceptional--Iron gargoyle shovel 10 Plate gorgets, dull copper, non-exceptional--Iron gargoyle shovel 10 Ringmail glove, iron, exceptional--Iron gargoyle shovel 10 Chainmail legs, dull copper, exceptional--Iron gargoyle shovel 10 Chainmail legs, dull copper, non-exceptional--Iron gargoyle shovel 10 Helmet, iron exceptional--Dull Copper gargoyle shovel 10 Helmet, dull copper, exceptional--Iron gargoyle shovel At this point I would like to note that I actually did eleven small bods that were formerly listed as 90% chance to result in a gargoyle pickaxe. Only 2 of them actually gave a gargoyle pickaxe, so I don't think the chances of getting a pickaxe/shovel are equal. This would concern me if there weren't over 15,000 pickaxes already in the game. Also, I went and tried an Iron gargoyle shovel. I didn't get any special items (or platinum) but I did walk away with almost 250 iron ingots. The ore lord seemed about as strong as a valorite elemental. Having 3 stacks of ore drop to the ground instead of in a corpse was a terrific idea. Opening corpses can be pretty annoying for a miner. i got 10 excep buckler deed from Willard in Minoc for Shadow Iron gargoyle shovel after selling a bunch of items to him
As there's no mention of gargoyle's shovels in the BOD Review thread nor in the smithy BOD chart, I asked about them in IRC. Some say there's a random chance they come in place of a gargoyle's pickaxe, someone said in place of mining gloves. And looking at this thread, looks like they can come off of small 15 iron BODs which, according to the chart, yield neither gloves nor pickaxes. I was hoping the fantastic community in Renaissance could pitch in to collectively close the information gap on getting gargoyle's shovels. So, which BODs yield gargoyle's shovels?
I see @Airin, @Crunk Juice and @LanDarr have recently sold some in forums, perhaps you could pitch in?
Hi, I read that gargoyle shovels come instead of the mining gloves reward. But I never checked. I get them for flips, so I just make a bag of 15 BODs and turn them in all at once.
