Bonded Pet Skill Loss Bonded pets will return to taking 2.5% of their skills on death. Bonded pets linked to a faction member will experience a 5% skill loss on death. Books Added some additional logging to ingame books to allow the staff to trace players who created/edited books. This will allow the staff to address the actions of players editing books to include speech that violates the posted rules on Renaissance. Boss Spawns Gamayun will now continue to spawn, just in a larger region. Gamayun will continue to spawn in the new player dungeon but in a unique manner. The Cave, Forest and Mountain Troll spawns have returned, but in a larger spawn area. The Obsidian gargoyle can now be found in the northern part of the lost lands. Caves Overworld caves have been given the proper logout delays and light level settings that were missing previously. Some cases with locations close to town have had their spawn disabled. To see the public discussion on this topic click here The previous system in which players who had looting rights were awarded 20 platinum. This system did not scale well to support the growth of our playerbase and was not working properly. Implemented a new sophisticated damage tracking system specifically for the Harrower . This system will track damage done to both phases of the Harrower and all of the related tentacles Any life drained by the tentacles from players or their pets will be deducted from your damage totals as well. Once the Harrower is defeated the damage log will be used to determine the platinum rewards. The top 45 players will each earn platinum. 45 for 1st, 23 platinum for 23rd, 1 platinum for 45th. Should less than 45 players defeat the Harrower any leftover platinum will be evenly distributed to everyone involved. The maximum platinum a player can earn from the Harrower is 100. Note: An additional 50-100 platinum is available from the explosion following the harrowers death. This remains unchanged. Mage Towers Resolved a problem in which tower defenders would spawn with incorrect teams. This was causing some of the monsters in the mage towers to fight it out. Probably over sleeping arrangements. Resolved a problem in which the holy archmage tower defender would not summon his helpers. Note: If anyone witnesses any more tower vs tower combat please let me know. House Signs Clicking house signs will require that you be at the computer and watching the screen now. Previous this was only required if you were a ghost. Item Identification will now require a skill check in order to determine the decay status of a house when targeting the house sign. House Placement House placement can no longer be blocked by young players. If they are blocking a house spot they will be moved and not affect the placement of the house. This still requires valid placement however, but should the placement be valid they will be moved. This is in additional to staff (counselors, gamemaster, etc) not being allowed to block house placement as well. Houses Chain lightning and Meteor storm can no longer be used to kill players/pets in their houses. They will still do 1 damage in other situations, unless the cast would result in the players death. This will stay in place until some additional research is done on the subject. Note: This does not mean players are 100% safe in a house. You should always consider line of sight and your proximity to an external wall when idling in your house. Houses such as the marble and stone workshop provide very little protection. If someone can clearly see you from another house and is within 10-12 tiles they can affect you with spells. Implemented a system in which certain houses on the server can be designated as historical. This will allow the house to be excluded from decay and to remain as a part of the servers history in situations where the owner is not available A detailed post summarizing what can qualify a house for this protect will be available soon. This can only apply to houses that have served as a community resources or event center for players and remain public resources. Note: Any house covered under this system will indicate as much on the sign, and be marked with a special plaque. They will also be indexed in a forum thread for player review. This is intended to aid the staff in situations such as medical leave, internet loss, deployment or other unforeseen circumstances in which the staff will provide player assistance. As well as situations in which the staff has blessed a community structure and that structure is actively used in public shard events. Phoenix Armor Removed the dex penalty from the various armor pieces to match normal armor of the same type. As someone made the extremely valid argument of why a pack horse could hold more than my boat. Note: This will stay until we review the option of disabling item decay on boats. Special Fishing Net Resolved a problem in which the nets were generating an invalid sea serpent spawn. This was a maintenance issue and should not affect players. Town Critters Most taming quest critters will no longer spawn in confined areas in town limits (stables, etc) To balance this out all towns have been configured with classic animal life consisting of birds, cats, dogs, rats, etc. This should give the world a much more lively feel. Additional spawns of taming quest related animals will be added to new locations in the world to balance the removal from town locations. Note: Due to rampant unattended taming of these animals this change was necessary. Spawns of these animals will have to have a minimal range aspect or take place outside of town. Treasure Hunter Expansion Fixed a problem where Amber Golems were not affected by the correct slayers. Removed some coloring that was applied to slayer drops leftover from testing. Adjusted the achievement export to more clearly define the success/failure of the dungeons. Updated the world alert messages to correctly indicate the success of failure of the dungeon run. (Not the ironman sucess/failure). Resolved a problem in which the wrong sub slayer was dropping in the arachnid caves. (This was flipped incorrectly with the reptile instance) Found and resolved a problem in which the scoring system for the events was not correctly counting players in multi zoned events. Treasure Hunter Expansion - Abyss Dungeon The abyss dungeon is now complete and will open shortly after the patch. This is the most challenging of the level 7 treasure maps with a combination of tough creatures, bosses and a dungeon full of traps. Taming Quest Resolved a problem in which the support creatures were not spawning at full health. - Thanks Dyne Website Interface Updated the process that exports item information to the website to exclude around 40% of the items on the server. This includes common weapons, common armor, bags, pouches, and such. Non standard items should still export as usual This will help with the amount of stress this places on the communication between the game/web server. Included information about the mount a player is riding for a future website update for player pictures. WhatIsIt Added the functionality of the whatisit command to the interior decorator. This will work on items in/out of a house. Created a new item the identifier which can be used to obtain additional information from world items.
