I'm wondering if a perma grey thief can be safely attacked by another player's pets without getting guard whacked.
Follow up. Always make sure to verify perma status. Many thieves will flee off screen and kill themselves then return to bait you to attack them
Follow follow up. To verify perma grey status, attempt to random-steal from the subject. If they are perma-grey you will receive a message "You cannot steal that", if they are not perma-grey you will recieve a message, "You must be in the thieves guild to steal from other players...".
Wait... wait.. wait... hole' up. So you don't really need forensic evaluation? That's like... good and sad news at the same time.
AFAIK no this is not a bug. You have to be in thieves guilds to steal from blues. When you attempt to steal from a blue you get the msg "You must be in the thieves guild...". You can however attempt to steal from greys, reds, and oranges w/o being in the thieves guild. However since you have 0 stealing you will get the msg "you cannot steal that", since w/e you are trying to steal via the random steal is likely out of your stealing weight limit. You theoretically could also get the message " you fail to steal the item", or jeez if your lucky and the random steal attempts to steal a 0 or 1 stone item you could even succeed the steal.
Oh well, I didn't know that you could steal from greys, reds and oranges w/o being in the thieves guild.
