Hello everyone, If you read my previous post, you know that i am organizing shard-wide poker nights! We will be using the Pokerstars software to schedule and play these tournaments. In order for everything to run smoothly on our first poker night, everyone interested needs to download Pokerstars, create an account (no payment information needed), and join the UOR Poker Club on the software. This event is hosted by CPU. We are wanting to contribute more to the community. Once everyone does this, i will only need to schedule the tournament, collect buy-ins in UO, and pay the winners! Below, i am including step-by-step instructions, WITH pictures. This should be very simple even for people that are not so savvy. If you are not familiar with poker software, i recommend utilizing the tutorial that the software provides. I would like to know what everyone thought about the tournament and if there are any changes you would like to be made. For the next tournament--- Does everyone like the last buy in amount of 25k or should we raise it? How was the payout system? Please voice any concerns or thoughts Again, thank you everyone for participating, i had a lot of fun, and i hope you guys did as well. I look forward to the next tournament.
IMO - agree that the 10 minutes blinds made the game a bit long. Maybe with lesser buy in / pot - 5 minute blinds and if more money is ultimately at stake the 10 minute would work. The games were actually going pretty fast and people not taking long times to bet like you'd see in standard online poker games, so there is a lot of hands being played in that time frame.
good point pill. that makes sense. Especially when more money is at stake, i can make the blinds longer. it did start getting a little crazy i would just need to make sure that the time spent on poker yields greater rewards than going and farming for 2 hours
I had fun, this is a worthwhile event. Please don't make the buy-ins too high though because I can only rob so many people.
Aye! Even tho I went out early, I had lots of fun. The 25k buy in seems like a good mark. I guess for some tourneys there could be a bigger buy in.
Poker Night Deep Stack Tournament Sunday Aug 21 9pm EST Registrations begin 7pm EST Find Poker Paymaster at Occlo bank Texas Hold'Em 25k Buy-In (No Re-Buys) 10k starting chips 6 players per table 1st place 75% 2nd place 25% 3rd place wins buy-in back This is a deep stack tournament. This means that we will be starting with over 3 times the amount of chips as last time. Everything else will be the same. Lets have a vote. reply to this post stating whether you would like the buy in amount to stay the same, increase, or decrease. If the majority wants to change the buy in amount, i will make it happen. Everyone please let me know that you plan on attending as soon as possible. If anyone has questions please PM me on the forums, or speak with Pokertime on IRC. Thank you, and i wish everyone the best of luck on the tables!
I plan to attend. I vote 25k is a good place from a cost and reward standpoint, although I would be willing to suffer a buy-in up to 50k if that is what it took to get more people to attend.
Not bad paddy, not bad! you should join us. I don't know how familiar you are with poker, but someone that's fairly new to poker won the last tournament.
not if I play! bwahaha. Maybe this is how I should start farming gold in UO... just messin around, hehe Don't forget that the more folks that play, the more places that pay. I believe it was 6 man -2 paid, 9 man - 3 paid, 27 man - 4 paid...or course you can customize these however you want. It's been a while since I was a real money pokerstars god! my avatar even had a tiny chiuaua with a needle in it's mouth and demon red eyes growling edit - don't forget to also let folks know if it's "limit" or "no-limit" (I always hated "limit" because folks stay in with shitty hands...you get more bad beats and can't bluff as good)
hey rick i hope you decide to join us on sunday! good point rick. we will more than likely always be doing no limit. I think that's probably more popular anyway. However, if everyone wants to do limit, we can do that as well. Also, i do plan on changing the payouts based on how many players we have. i figured 3 places getting paid for 11 people was fine. what do you think rick? anyway, please join us on sunday! all of the details are in this thread, however if you have any questions please ask away; here, through PM, or to Pokertime on IRC. Thanks!
