... consider your access to the best slayer(s) you can get your hands on and go from there.

I'd rather use a scimitar of repond and vanquishing if I had one than a regular vanq warhammer. Retraining weapons is easy. Go for what sounds good to you.

Swords is the best for accessibility to slayers.
    - concussion blow is neigh useless

    Fencing is high/fast swinging DPS
    - stun blow is sweet

Macing is lowest DPS / stamina drain eventually reduces target's damage potential
    - crit blow RNG may make up for mediocre overall DPS

One handed weapons are great too for drinking pots without unequipping. Pots save lives

I always preferred Macing or Swords. The shrill fencing tings get repetitive over time and really grind on my ears.
Another thing to think about, weapons take damage every swing. So a fast swinger will degrade faster (more swings per second) than a slow one with similar DPS stats.

I find that Warhammers and Hallys are great weapons. The DPS is great vs higher AR monsters and you usually get 3 or 4 trips out of em before they get wonkey and need to be repaired.

Can someone explain why Macing for Provo Dexxer? This seems counter intuitive to me, you stam drain mobs that are hitting each other, thus slowing their killing speed....honestly macing seems like the only poor choice to me

im far less concerned with trash mobs killing each other than i am fighting bosses.

all of the lvl 7 bosses have a melee attack and an AoE attack. you can tank them for longer if they are hitting you less.

pretty simple. plus the black staff and quarter staff are right up there with the top weapons in terms of dps

when it comes to the crushing blow, that doesnt get the double damage from slayers so its not a huge bonus.

frankly the weapon choice doesnt matter.

swords and fencing have the best 1 handed slayers.

fencing and lumberjacking have the best 2 handed weapons.

mace fighting is more of a.... slow but safer kinda deal.
