    Hi,

I would like to make the following suggestion; We should be able to find rares in digged up treasure chests.

As a treasure hunter (the name already reveals it) you are hunting for treasures. So it would be nice to find a rare now and then, which are the actual treasures you are looking for. The gold part is a nice thing, but it isn't a real treasure.. Don't we all want something cool? Something to decorate our houses with, some useful rare items like a magic eightball? ;-)
I personally think this would really improve t-hunting and makes it more exciting.

As for the suggestion: Every level of treasure chest (1 to 6) should have a list of different rares you can obtain. Ofcourse they have a low rate of actually being inside the chest but that will make the t-hunting way more exciting. There will always be the curiousity for (example) a bag inside the treasure chest. Once you see a bag you know there'll be a rare item inside of it. But not all rares will be worthwhile! Ofcourse there should be rares that are less 'rare' than the other ones. But even if there is a chance of getting a 'less good' rare, you will always be curious and excited!

Thanks for reading, hope you all like the idea and support it!

    Greetings,
    Lily

It really sounds like a great idea.

It would make Thunting much more interesting. I didnt raise yet a THunter because...with mibs and amibs, I dont really need to Thunt, when u have a chance of get a rare on amibs ;) But I will raise one if thunting goes like that, for sure!

    +1

That would be a pretty cool idea. or a chance to get 1-6 plat coins depending on diff of the map.

Currently there is a chance to get platinum in level 5/6 chests, I believe the chance for a lvl 5 is 20% and significantly higher for a 6.

Additionally Telamon had mentioned that he plans to add lvl5 lockpicking chests with a "chest guardian" that needs to be circumvented/killed before proceeding. Like with all the recent class-specific additions I would assume that some form of rare spawn/drop would be incorporated.

Currently level 5 chests have a 20% chance to drop a single platinum coin (patch 43 will increase this to 100% for 1 coin)

Level 6 chests drop 3 platinum coins currently. At some point going forward we will add a new mechanic for level 6 chests, potentially a small instanced dungeon.

Similarly we have plans to implement a "Boss" style lockpicking chest providing a unique challenge for our rogue class players.

We are still working out a few points for this. However the idea is that somewhere in the world a clue will be found, maybe from a single wandering NPC in the world, that carries a scroll. Once the scroll is stolen and read, a special chest will spawn in a dungeon as indicated by the scroll. The player will then have to scour the dungeon to find the chest.

To open the chest players will have to do one of those things. Either use gm lockpicking, gm detect hidden and gm remove trap to disable the chests defenses gaining access to the loot, or alternatively if the trap is triggered a chest guardian will spawn. In order to open the chest at this point you will have to defeat the guardian (which will be very hard).

We look forward to coming up with something simliar for level 6 treasure maps to follow on design plans to add a "Boss" or "Endgame" mechanic to the various trades, while leaving the known Renaissance mechanics in place. (aka Level 5's work like you expect, level 6's are special)

This looks like another great addition to the shard.
