Regular spawn rares

    There should be rare spawns on regular mobs. On defiance a now discontinued free shard, daemons would drop tapestries, dread spiders spider webs, poison eles lamp posts, blood eles blood curtains, ancient wyrms would drop great items too.

    All the items were at a fixed 250/1 chance of a drop so the market wasn't saturated with them.

    I think there should be these kinds of rare drops on regular spawn.

    Something like this would certainly give some incentive to go out and farm.

    indeed, but at a super high 1/250 drop rate? How many elder gazers can triple kills in an hour, let alone an hour each day... rares would be all over

    Monster statues are the UOR equivalent. Can get them as a rare drop on many mobs.

    Drop rate could be adjusted of course, to whatever makes sense. I was just commenting on the idea in general. For peeps that don't like to farm, it would at least provide some motivation to be out there in the world doing something.

    Yeah 250-1 might be a bit high, so just make it 750-1000-1

    Currently there is a project (on hold) to at least add more boss spawns as a reward for farming monsters in select locations. The boss statues are rares and can be VERY hard to acquire. I agree that something added to standard monsters would be cool. Orcs with their bows and orcish kin masks are a good example of some light rares that could be applied to more common monsters.

    Other games often create repeatable kill x monster quests to give motivation for standard monster killing. UOR doesn't support these built-in quests but players are more then welcome to create them. @Cero did an amazing job at running the Guard Command Outposts for a while.

    It’s a tough one. People want more rares, but more spawning means semi-rares that would be low in price. I do think adding little things similar to orc bow would be neat, but those would end up being quite common and therefore less exciting to get.
    Bring on the new boss monsters, would be really cool to have some more.

    We also have plat as rare drop on many monsters, you can pick a variety of rewards when you hoard a lot of them.

    The main problem with that is that plat is not an incentive to farm regular mobs, as there are more efficient ways to farm it.

    Love the idea of regular spawns having rare drops or at least semi-rare drops. Would make it much more incentivizing to get out in the world. So many regular spawns that aren't utilized to their potential. Events are great, but if no attention is given to the casual farmers, it kills that part of the game. And thats the part of the game that I remember and love.

    The occasional plat and pec meat are very "meh" now.

    Totally agree. Would incentivie farming, stimulate trade, etc. All good.
