Sorrry if asked before, couldn't find it.

I know Runebooks here are not newby and will be left on your corpse.

My question is though, can they be stolen by thieves. They have 0 weight but I have been hit by thieves several times and they never target my runebooks.. even when it was clearly the most valuable item.

I don't want to have to build up a thief just to test this myself. :)

Can be stolen if in a bag that is light enough to steal or by random steal

They cannot be stolen if targeted directly but if a random steal is conducted on your backpack it may be stolen by chance.

Tip: If you clutter your main backpack with newbied items you lessen the success rate of random steals.

Don't know the odds of a random steal on rune books but I dont think its to high.I carry one alot and never had a problem.

The odds would be relative to number of items in pack, or at least that’s how it should work.

Also, unblessed runebooks aren’t that valuable. Unless you own a courtyard-house and put that rune in said book. But even then the thief wouldn’t know that so...

Assuming the thief is out for profit and not the sheer enjoyment of knowing what a PITA it is to rebuild said runebook. :)

Some people are willing to pay a thief to avoid that hassle...

I don't think I've ever had a runebook stolen; swore they were noobied and void from this as long as in main bag. I just hold mine.

Yes, I think holding is the safest way to go.

Does disarm work on Runebooks? I know it wouldn't be as effective as disarm + targeted steal since it's random chance but is that possible? Don't want people to have a false sense of security with their books ;)

You will get a insta whack in cities/guard zones when a NPC is within 20 tiles or so. Though tbh, I am not even sure you can disarm spellbooks, but I guess it should work.
