[SOLVED] I recently created a new character and regardless of how many changes I make to my game screen, profile scroll, in-game options, etc... nothing saves when I log out and back in. His skills are the only thing that save. I have a razor profile for him and everything. I've never experienced this before, with the exception of the first log off/log in on a new character. This has been going on for a week now and I'm not sure what the issue is. I did make this character after patch 73, if that has anything to do with it... [SOLVED]
Is this a character that has the same name as one you have created before? If so, that can cause problems. Just go into the program folder and delete that character's folder is how I have fixed this in the past.
@ReZon Completely different name. @Larloch I'm not talking about macros. I'm talking about screen configuration (where I put paperdoll, journal, map, etc.), text color, notes I wrote in my profile scroll, spells/skills buttons I dragged out all disappear, etc.
Is UO client installed in Program Files? Change install directory to something like C:/UO/... and try.
@snap dragon I would try that if my other characters were having the same issue but it's isolated to this guy and maybe... new characters? Also, I tend to fuck things up when I try to uninstall/install/move programs around. I'm not the best guy when it comes to computers :/ (Added photo evidence of problem to original post)
Was it the only client open? If not, was it the last client closed? I have found that stuff tends to not save when the client is not the last one hard closed (not just logged out).
@snap dragon No, but the problem has been fixed thanks to @Pirul I closed all clients, re-opened the new character only, set it up, then logged off and closed my client completely. Upon re-log everything was OK. Thanks to everyone for input! I told you... I'm not the greatest with computers In my defense, it's never been this testy to get my client to remember a character's setup.
Ah, yeah that will get you. If you weren't aware, you can go to %appdata% / roaming / razor and pull out your macros.txt file, desktop.mul and all that from a character who has macro and "desktop setup" (spell tile positions, etc) that you like. Rename desktop.mul or hwatever to desktop.nwb and drop all the files in uo directory and that will become the new default all new character (or disguise kit people) use on login if they dont have their own.
