He might have died a bit more to than that, it's the number I kept in my head though. His deaths were a very rare event, given he would play daily, and a true feat to accomplish that barely anyone ever did. Edit: according to his death log, the real number should be around 20 in pvp combat, which is still an impressive feat. Out of those 20, most of them were from pets however, so actal player vs player deaths from fighting should be around 10. Given his total murder counts, he achieved one of the best k:d ratios on the server, only other comparable ones might be from the rrg.
Great write-up and kudos for checking your numbers. Yeah I think he died more than three times but during his last year or so it was VERY rare because he had PKing down to an art and a science. RRG was also legendary. They'd carry valorite weapons and every time a character died they'd declare him "permanently dead" and use a name change deed. Spectacular commitment.
The Robbers' Roost Gang was a very small guild of accomplished PKs who existed here for, by my estimation, 2-3 years. They were noted for doing things a bit differently than others, namely PKing on dexxers using valorite runic weapons and, often if not always, remaining in character roleplaying as a collective of brigands. Hence their commitment to "permanent death" for their characters. As suggested above, they were extremely deadly. I also fell to their gleaming axes on one occasion after a run clear across Fire Island. The search function on this forum is still broken, but for more information you could google with the search terms robbers roost gang site:uorforum.com or curly sue site:uorforum.com Or... You could have a conversation with, to the best of my knowledge, the last remaining (former) RRG member still partially active here. He is known as @SteelyDan
http://uorforum.com/threads/pfr-executed-for-trespassing-on-rrg-owned-lands.13343/ PFR was very clever but he had his moments.
I first hated them, for hiding and killing me on my own houses door multiple times a day, after a while I declared war on them. Frankly said, the day of theyr deaths got closer, as my skills increased. Sadly I've never managed to score a real kill on a RRG member, but could not help, but befriend @SteelyDan after a while. Even though I hated them on times, they were master scouts and information gatherers. Catching you off guard in moments where you would not count on it, and using similar hit and run tactics as pfr. Theyr deeds were well documented on the forums, making each kill a funny read. They would often times go after RP, or new player friendly guilds and demand protection money, but at the same time they were strict rpers too. PKing with valorite weapons, and treating each death as perma death, basically renaming the character and continuing the legacy under another name is what earned them my respect. They would add a lot of flair to the shard, but you would either love, or hate them.
Yeah true story, where are they for sale again? I bought mine and then the house it was in collapsed like a month later. Coincidence?
Not gona lie, that was the first group ever to make me smash my fist on the table, get off the pc and go outside for 30 minutes to calm down LOL. Amazed that a video game would have that impact on me, I laughed it off after I came back from the walk. Returned to the pc thinking "uo is fucking awesome!" So, yeah, in a great scheme of things I loved them because they made the experience into what it is and showed me new creative ways to play. Beeing in the middle of the conflict that it was though, by times I hated hit. They were absolutely ruthless and contact with them would be impossible.
