Not sure if this is a bug or it's supposed to be this way here, but I can't put any items back in the chest to "milk" the rest of the mobs out of the chest. Seems like you should be able to do this to get the full amount of mobs out of the chests.
There's no need to "milk" the chest here. All of the spawn will come up as loot is pulled from the chest.
However, as I understand it (yet don't practice it myself) removing items one at a time from a stack (like reagents or even possibly gold?) will result in a potential spawn. I have yet to test it, but I think it was like that once if not still. If it is, it should be fixed.
The only things that seemed to be stacked in the chest are regs and gold. Scrolls aren't stacked and neither are gems. I'll do another tonight and take gold one piece at a time to see if it spawns anything.
Well, just did a level 4 chest and looted everything but the gold. I then looted 100 gold pieces off the 4k stack 1 piece at a time and spawned a lich lord, elder gazer, daemon x3 and an ogre lord. I think it's definitely a bug that you can't properly milk the chest. It is a mega pain in the ass picking gold pieces off a pile 1 at a time.
Um, I think both are bugs because you shouldn't be able to sit there and pump out MoBs like you're running a spawn factory. Chest dig spawn and each item removed after that with a chance to spawn are the only things that should work. Pile picking and drag/drop milking should both be completely removed for balance. With over 7000 Treasure Maps on the shard, I hardly think we need to leave this in. You want continual spawn, try a dungeon. Not trying to hate on you or anything but I find both things to be completely out of line and worthy of being considered bugs.
I don't want continual spawn at all. There are a set range of mobs that are supposed to spawn with a tmap chest. For instance a level 5 chest is supposed to spawn somewhere between 20 and 25 mobs (numbers are made up no idea how many is supposed to spawn on a level 5). All I was saying, was that without the ability to put items back in the chest to move around, there is no way of getting the chest to spawn all the mobs it could with out dragging out gold pieces a single piece at a time or regs one reg at a time.
http://uo.stratics.com/thb/info/treasurechests.shtml Here it states that the initial spawn is four monsters (fairly certain I've seen half a dozen or more on Level 6s, but I would have to test) http://uo.stratics.com/thb/faq.shtml#q24 Here it indicates that a forced spawn will only generate 13-16 spawn. I would be more content with the coding working to ensure proper amounts of spawn, without the need to force it. Also, through reading that, it seems to imply that you can milk it without putting something in the chest. Just try to move an item to the other side of the chest (it will snap back) and that movement attempt will trigger potential spawn.
I think we both want the same thing. I think having to milk the chest is a pain in the ass and don't like doing it, but it bugs the shit out of me knowing there are more mobs to be spawned by milking it. Personally I would like it so all the mobs potential mobs spawn upon completely looting the chest.
