The evening sun was a beautiful orange ball in the western sky when I made the 'jump' to Serpent's Hold. The fortress citadel was quiet and peaceful. I came upon a traveler named Quillan. He, as all before him, had not seen Vlar. "We could travel to the Capital of all Brittania together," he spoke. "Yes," I thought to myself. "Perhaps he is there." "Yes, Oni, you have the spot to check right in your hand," my little book seemed to speak to me. I turned back to Quillan. "Yes, I will go with thee." I walked around the Hold with Quillan just to make sure no one else had seen my Friend. We came upon an elegantly dressed, regal Lady named Hoshi in the Tinkerer's Shop. "Excuse me, Hoshi," I began. May I ask you a question?" "Yes, you may,' she replied dignantly. "Have you seen a man named Vlar?" I gave her a description of my Friend. "No, I have not seen this one you call Vlar, recently," she stated. "Have you checked, Britain?" Another vote for the Capital City. Perhaps this was a sign. "Okay, little book, I will give your idea a try," I mused to myself. "Vas Rel Por." The shimmering blue portal came at my command. We stepped out of the Fortress and into the center staging area of the Brittania Tracks. Vlar was everywhere here. He had left big footprints all over the Track. I ran to each spot he appeared to be.. The starting blocks.. the crimson finish line.. the food tables.. His visage was everywhere. Oh, the memories of this place, very fond memories. ...But he was not there. Nevertheless, I left the area with better thoughts and a lifted spirit. "Thank you little book. I feel better now." I now knew that no matter the outcome of my search, I would always have these fond memories of a Friend. My life would be forever marked with great times. Nothing can take them away. Still, I did not give up my search. "What think you now, little book?" On cue, the book fell open to the page containing the rune for Skara Brae. "Here we go!" I spoke the words, and the fond memories of The Track were replaced with the bustling of a major town of the Realm. Travel by air is great. I made for the business area of the town and began my search. Still no Vlar. "Guess I better check around the bank just to be sure," I thought. As I reached the bank, I noticed a warrior with an impressive spear. "What have you been hunting," I asked. "Nothing, yet. Was about to go." I did not doubt he would be successful in his endeavors. I overheard him telling a companion he really liked living in this realm. The atmosphere of this place must have some great bearing on his statement. I thought of Vlar again. Friends.. That is why most live here in this place. To make friends or be a friend. To just be with friends. But where was I? Warrior with sharp spear.. Oh, yes. Before I could continue my conversation, I was interrupted by a voice behind me. "Lady Oni?" I turned to greet the voice. "I am Acaelus Thorne," he stated. "Have you found Vlar?" He asked before I had time to return a greeting. "Good evening, Acaelus, and no I have not found him yet. Do you have any clues?" "Well, I do have a few ideas." And then I noticed a shady little character named Lake behind me. I felt a minor tingling sensation as a trapped pouch went off in my backpack. "Don't touch the big box," I cautioned as I turned to face her. "Oh! Okay," she stammered as she turned and fled. I turned back to continue to talk with Acaelus, but he was gone. Moments later, he rounded the corner of the stable, cast reveal and blasted Lake to the ground. She does not have the blessing of the 5D," he stated. Poor Lake. She lay on the ground unconscious. Amongst her 'belongings' was a map.. my map of the Realm. Quite a severe punishment for taking an everyday map. Never a dull moment in this Realm, even when searching for a friend. A few minutes later, Lake came too, right in the middle of Acaelus's and my conversation. "...So you think he could be on some deserted island on vacation?" "Aye," he replied. "Or he may be on a secret mission." "You may be right. Thanks for the input. You are most insightful and encouraging. I will keep these thoughts in mind as I search," I finished. "I am glad I could be of some help," he concluded, but "I must take my leave, M'Lady." "Goodnight, Acaelus, and Thanks." Vlar, I am still searching..Too Find my Friend with aid from the Realm.
