Training magery without resist

On some characters magic resist is simply unneeded. Training magic resist can be terribly expensive and time consuming. Using this method you can have GM magery in about a day. Evaluating intelligence should end up around 92 as well.
* ProTip: Temporarily, there's a trick to work up resist as a group via area spells like meteor swarm via a "resist party", but this will likely be patched at some point.


Why would you want to train magery without magic resist?
The template doesn't require magic resistance (ie: crafter or crowded out by other skills)
You're in a hurry to complete magery
You don't want to tie up a 2nd account as a healer

This is a great way to quickly get your magery up, even if you don't plan to GM via this method. It does, however, burn a lot of reagents. Using a restock agent, the invis step can be done at a bank.

How to copy and paste a macro


86-GM Earthquake
This step needs to be done in a house, preferably one that doesn't see much traffic. The earthquake spell does damage up to 8 tiles away from the caster. Anyone hit by the spell could theoretically suicide and give a count. In practice, this is unlikely.

How to copy and paste a macro

Hello, thanks for the guide.

I am wondering if Resurrection wouldn't be better than EQ because it costs 10gp per cast compared to 13gp. I figure just macroing it on AFK alt ghost. Or am I totally missing something obvious??

Yeah, that makes sense. The only reason I use EQ is to avoid tying up a second account.

Question on this. IF you're vendor bought magery because its for a mule what can you do prior to 50 for non resist gains?

Vendorbought-50 = what?
50-86 = Invis
86-gm = Ressurect or earthquake

Any 4th level spell will take you from NPC bought magery to 50.
So if you want resist cast lightning if not then greater heal works fine.

I've found that magery gains at this low level are very fast so you'll get to 50 in no time at all.

I am digging up an old thread, but I would like to start training magery (without resist) today. Could anyone pls explain how to copy and paste a macro? All those links I found seem to relate to a single guide that isn't working any longer.

Could we get an edit? I found out the hard way that you can't cast invisibility until 51.8 shown magery skill.

If you wanna cast lightning, EQ, FS, or Rez to level up, you can target your spellbook.

Are you looking for a way to get to 51.8 from - let's say - beginning 30s? If so, just cast any fourth circle spell (for example Greater Healing) until you get there.
