Question for anyone who's previously done mare / dragon training, or any veteran tamer.

Seeing as how dragons / nightmares teleport, is it even possible to trap them, tell them all kill on another target to train their magery?

And lastly... recommendations on training melee skills? Take two mares, have one attack other, and switch off healing them?

Nothing can "teleport" inside a player house, so you can certainly trap them.

Yes you can fight 2 pets to train them.

What people do here is have a "shadow iron elemental". It's a monster that may spawn in some caves or whatever, but also miners can dig them up (It takes 0 damage from pets, or pet casted spells). They lure them into a house and trap it. Then they tell pets to kill it and do something like place a stone oven, or close a door, to block line of sight from the pets to the elemental to give them time to meditate so magery gains faster.

For melee skills, simply have one pet start melee attacking the elemental. Then you vet that one. Then have all the others attack. You only need to vet the one pet this way.

Resist: pets can join a resist session just like players. Meteor swarm on a group of pets is the best way to gain resist quickly. You may need to vet them all depending on the number of meteor swarm casters and number of pets you have.

Yes, you find a dull copper deposit and dig it with the gargoyle pickaxe. Those pickaxes improve the ore grade by one, hence the dull copper part. You can also spawn them with a shadow iron gargoyle shovel when inside a cave.

Also, when using the g-pick remember stone, sandstone, and marble golems have a chance to spawn as well

@Marti If you do not have a Dull Copper dirth path close by, you can use a prospect tool on an Iron spot and then your a Gargoyle pick on it. Shovels only work inside caves and they spawn Golems and the Gargoyle pickaxe works anywhere and spawns Elements.

oh that's true. The g-shovels produce golems, not elementals. Does that mean the pet damage thing doesn't carry over? I heard that the g-shovel produces a golem on each use and the final use produces a golem lord variant.

I do not know. Some in guild claims that elements are better but somone that knows should confirm. You still need a cave though.
