I love this era and really enjoy playing on this shard. For that reason I dislike tinkering with the mechanics of the game. BUT...

I've always hated that birds and cats give me a stamina hit or stop me dead in my tracks. I don't think it's reasonable that a guy galloping on horseback should have to yield to animals weighing a matter of ounces or milligrams.

I'm not really recommending this for the server, since the game should be challenging. But I just think it's fair that we should be able to trample the lower critters. And they die. What do you think?

<<<I agree with you, but I feel sorry for the critters, let it be possible to pass, but they will remain alive :)
Well, they are pets, and that means their death will affect karma, a bit of course !?

I am with you all the way on this. A bird the size of a fist should not be able to impede the travel of someone on foot or on horse.
Has a pigeon ever crossed your path and not let you by?
    Cmon!

It could be reasonable that trying to run through a snake would dismount you and poison your horse...
But that's only if we're going super realistic with this.

Maybe we'll give pets a pass. Maybe. :p

That's an excellent point. I rode a rl horse that tripped over an extension cord and bucked up thinking it was a snake. I almost didn't hang on that time.

if there's even a chance I could be dismounted and chased on foot by a silver serpent through jungle terrain, well i'm quitting due to nightmare fuel.

    No UO did not!

I also want to add that I think all mobiles should be treated equally so there is consistent behavior that people expect. Maybe making birds a brighter hue so they can be seen is a more reasonable option.

Am I the only one who actually saw the movie The Birds?

They need to be classified as enemies. Its only a matter of time.

I agree. We should be able to run through all birds, normal rats, cats, rabbits, chickens and normal sized snakes... whether we are on horseback or foot.
I don't think it should kill the animal though, as they could be tamed pets and that would create a mess for criminal flags.

Furthermore, I vote 'HELL NO' for that silly idea of adding the chance of dismount and/or poisoning when running over a snake.

Great idea but I'll go the opposite way, if we can run over small creatures with no impediment, how the hell can a person push a dragon out of the way? Just saying.

A bird that bumps into the face of a horse can irritate it too...

I would say, just leave it as it is. Anybody can stock red potions on their toon or just buy some delicious apples. Stopping dead in your tracks because of mobiles can really be prevented.

stam block isn't nearly as annoying as tracking 16 starling/skylark/whatever they're called.
