Weekend Fishing Tournament – Fri, June 28 to Sun, June 30 Fishing Tournament: June 28th – June 30th Anyone can enter - no entry fee! Over 100k in prizes and growing!!! (80+ fishing offshore is required to catch a "Big Fish", tis by-catch of a sea serpent) Anglers with the 3 largest fish will be awarded prizes. Prizes are currently being collected. Please contact Zyler in IRC to make donation. 1st place: 50k, Fishing net, MIB, 2 ropes 2nd place: 25k, Fishing net, MIB, Nautilus, Fire horn 3rd place: 15k, Fishing net, MIB Smallest fish: 10k, Fishing net Rules: • The tournament will be held between Friday June 28th and Sunday June 30th. All fish weighed in must have a datestamp on/between those dates. (Note: datestamp is based on UOR server time, US Central, -6 GMT) • Awards will be given on Monday, July 1st. Accommodations will be made to winners that cannot claim their prize(s) on the 1st. • Anglers weighing fish will only qualify for one place in the standings. An angler cannot hold 2nd and 3rd simultaneously. • Fish weighed in will be credited to the angler, not who turns. Anyone can submit fish for any angler. Angler must be present to claim winnings. • Use as many fishers as you like. Again, fish is credited to angler marked on fish. (some players are using more than on fisher) • No sign up required! Simply contact Zyler in IRC or Forum PM to submit your fish -OR- post a screen shot of your catch. DO NOT MOUNT FISH. Mounting a fish will erase datestamp. Fish will need to be verified to collect prize if not seen previously ingame. Fish weight will only be recorded. You keep your catch. Notes on Fishing: Fishing is used with a fishing pole or nets to catch fish (and other objects). Raising Fishing: Fishing is a difficulty based. 0-65 - On land you will fish up Footwear, Magic Fish, and Normal Fish. 80+ - Sea Serpents (No SoS Message/MIBs), Special Fishing Nets. You can reel in "Big Fish" which can be used to make Trophies via Taxidermy Kits. (a mounted fish) 90+ - Treasure Maps 100 - Messages in a Bottle (aka MIB) / Waterstained SoS Message You can get to 100% fishing on land, but deep sea fishing gives much faster skill gains. Fishing can be trained all the way to 99.9 without encountering an AFK gump. Monsters will never spawn by fishing from land. You can GM relatively easily from any coast or dock even without moving much because the water tiles will respawn relatively quickly and you can reach 2-3 different spots from where you are standing. There weren't any trophies so, not a big loss. I'll compensate you if needed, else a donation to Aug Tourney.
