hey guys, i logged in yesterday and i've been notified that 615 players were online... but where? Britain was totally empty, Minoc too, there were just like 30ish people around Ocllo and that's it... where's everyone? just macroing and hopefully in dungeons? ._.
Divide that number by 3 and then remove another quarter of that number and that’s probably a more accurate representation for individuals in game right now. So 153 people. Maybe. Tbh that even sounds like a stretch. If you’re not already, get on discord, that’s where you’re likely to see the most engagement and find out where people are at and what they’re up too.
Not necessarily, it’s more likely they’re just logged in, afk somewhere, probably in their homes earning platinum. X amount of hours equates to a maximum of 10 plat, per account. Think of it as welfare. So, every month you can passively earn 30 plat which if sold would net you about 150k+ a month.
No worries! On the reals though, get on discord and save yourself the regs bouncing around looking for people. People post up looking for PVP, give heads up if a PK is in a dungeon and even has a bounty bot that updates with peoples bounties when they’re out PK’ing, they’re buying, selling, trading goods as well as organising events and things like dungeon crawls. Plus, there’s always going to be someone online who can answer any questions you have. Also, if you’re new, NEW, and get an ANNI bag next month, which I’m not sure if you will (dependent on when you created your account) Do NOT sell it to a guy called Phillip at Oclococlcoclcoclocc bank. Or anyone at the bank spamming. Always check the value via discord or forums.
Yup, I miss the days of the busy banks with all the shop gates and people shouting SELLING RECALL SCROLLS etc, but as Earsnot said the Discord/Forum is basically the town square and less people hang out at the banks since we have more efficient means of communicating and coordinating. Personally I have my own rune library and like 10 houses, basically my own little eco system, so I'm usually running my adventures solo privately and don't have much need to go to town except to make trades or bank drops. I imagine most other established players more or less play this way too. You will however notice more activity at Occlo whenever waves of new players join. This happens periodically for various reasons. For example, the initial coronavirus lockdowns seemed to bring in a lot of new players and Occlo was pretty jammed for a while as a result. If you have any buddies who used to play UO, make sure to invite them here so you guys can relive the golden era together.
Between work, 4 kids, and now this ridiculous "online school" that requires parents to constantly be at the computer guiding their kids, I was able to play a whole 15 minutes today! 10 minutes of that was refreshing houses/boats and 5 minutes was helping my guild mates kill a boss. There are many players here but few of them are able to play as much as they'd like to.
