I know I must have missed this point from previous discussions, but I can't seem to figure out why is that and why it should be this way?
The boat in the pack has always been blessed as far as I can remember. If you want to steal a boat you'll have to wait for someone to place it and steal their keys. I remember it this way on OSI as well the model itself was blessed but once it was placed the keys were fair game to steal/kill for.
Here's a thought. What if when you dock a ship you only get a "ship deed" which is stealable. You can go to any shipwright in the realm and "dock" your boat to obtain a blessed ship model Pros added content for thieves adds increase traffic at shipwright to help npcs support their families. Cons added complexity for new players (I'm still blown away that we still have first time UOers here) coding for Chris still no forges and anvils on the boat
It's a good idea, but I don't understand why the ship model is blessed. It should be stealable. The same would apply for house deeds. Isn't that Trammel? Thieves can steal a 20 platinum coin stack worth 140k but can't steal a boat worth 7k or a house deed worth 65k. I can't seem to get the logic behind this.
