WTB Ogre Thrashing slayer instruments

If you are provoking ogres, use gm ones for the ogre lords.

You only need ogre thrashing for the bosses that spawn, like ogre mage.

I suppose GM ones would be nice, when I max discordance, I'll have a +20% chance to provoke with them. (10% with a gm instrument + 5% for max discordance + 5% for provoking a creature with a barding difficulty over 100. How much are they usually? Even normal ones work well against Ogre Lords, but may take a few tries but yes, it's the Ogre Mage I really need them for. I'll only use them against those, and if I can successfully discord an Ogre Mage I'll have a +50% chance to provoke an Ogre Lord against one with a Ogre Thrasher instrument, I could discord the Orge Lord too, but may be a little difficult with the OM casting spells at me (I'd have to keep the OM paralyzed or something)

I thought of using two toons with GM magery and Energy Vortex scrolls as well. If I can get 4 EV's on an Ogre Mage at once, he won't be able to dispel them all.

I don't know. I haven't tried provoking anything on them or against them, and I haven't even used a GM instrument yet to provoke. I'm sticking to the Despise Ogre Lords for now, unless I can get greater amounts of gold elsewhere

And.....how do super slayers work? For the stats for an Ogre Mage, I'd have a 144 barding difficulty with a slayer instrument, but this doesn't take into account that +5% bonus for the provoker for it being a monster over 100, and the +5% for GM discordance, and finally the +something (not sure if it's +20% or +20 barding difficulty (-20 really)) if I successfully use discord on it.

On personal reference think its close to 99,9% success rate on ogre lords with gm instrument which cost 200-300 on player vendors (at least few in occlo)

No, it's nowhere near that success rate. They have a barding skill of 96 and I am GM provoker, when I provoke one onto another, it is added together to 192, the divided by 2 (averaged) to 96 when you provoke one against the other, a GM instrument gives you +10% better chance 10/96=9.6 (don't know if it's rounded up or down, or it does actually take the fraction into account, for this I'll include it) 86.4. I have GM provoke so I have over a 50% chance of provoking them together but for close to 100% it would have to be near 50 barding difficulty.

Anyway, yes... if you're after ogre lords I as well as many others will recommend sticking with crafted instruments.

It's not 5% bonus for creatures over 100, it's 5% chance to succeed (whereas you would have zero without it - so I guess it is technically a bonus, but still...5% success rate).
