Just finished my first X20. Was Iron. Didnt expect much but was curious. Wanted to try it at least once.

To finish a x20 plate BOD it took me 6,973 ingots. More were actually used because iron items are resmeltable. Cost at the vendor suppressed price: 55,784 gold.

Reward: check for 18,000 gold and 15 fortifying power.

I realize that colored BODs have better rewards but they would also require an insane amount of ingots, basically 50% more.

Considering vanqs are so numerous you can buy them for as low as 1,000 gold, is a valorite vanq that will drop when you get pked really worth it?

I could have bought a legit slayer for that much gold. Why do we do this to ourselves?

    Welcome to the game.

You really have to be selective about what you choose to fill as smalls and what you choose to fill as larges.

I do not fill any iron larges, and I don't fill any iron plate at all. In fact, I don't fill any plate lower than 20x bronze.

Iron smalls are best flipped - turned in to immediately get a new BOD

Hi depends on your play style. The 15 fortified powder is worth quite a bit. Unfortunately exceptional plate is difficult to make, large fail rate. Same with bone armor and studded leather armor. So, it's whatever you enjoy doing. Captain gave good advice, if you wish to play that way. Flipping bods is a fun way to go as well.

Thanks for the tips. Yeah I will be more selective now.

What about dull copper - copper ringmail larges? Do you do those? Are those worth it or should I just flip the constituent bods?

What is the value of fortifying power? With armor you can just repair it. With leather, by the time my leather wears out I will have found lots more to wear. But Ive made lots of dungeon trips and my leather armor rating is still the same.

There are also some items that can only have their durability increased by fortifying powder, such as masks, bows, & staves. Repair deeds do not work on those items.
