Almost everything means different things to different people (for example; we obviously have a difference of opinion when it comes to hoarding pixels)... should we just not talk at all? Why even have a forum?

I can 150% agree with this...

But based on my observations you are just as guilty as all involved parties.

I'm done here. LONG LIVE UOR!! (please)

I had a feeling it might but autocorrupt but didn't want to put words in your mouth. That's why I didn't get miffed about it, I just stated it more clearly and capped a few times. Had you been engaged by the trapper with a proposition to pay a small fee for your boat's freedom, would you have?

That was the point. It doesn't have to be massive or game changing ransom to be a ransom. You were put in a bind and someone could have asked for a fee to release that bind. That is a ransom because had you not paid and staff not been so accommodating to you, your boat would be forfeit. That's how ransom works. Thanks for backing me up about not insulting you. I didn't feel I had and felt very put out for being accused of such, along with Punt, who albeit a bit more harsh than I, did not appear to be trolling or trying to insult you.

    Fair enough.

I can admit to being wrong in saying you are "JUST AS BAD AS ALL INVOLVED PARTIES"

In my experience you are definitely more open minded, than the opposite; and I respect that.

My main point was that everyone is at least a little guilty; regardless of how open minded they think they are.

I'm going to go out on a limb here...

But Blaise only goes "Full Blaise" because he cares about UO a lot.

I understand that at this point we all likely care about UO a lot... but that should just be even more reason for you to be understanding.

    Full Blaise (passion), or bust.

TO CLARIFY: I DO NOT NEED TO AGREE WITH HIS OPINIONS TO AGREE WITH HIS PASSION.

We good Blaise Ive got no issues with you at all :)

Not with anyone in this thread. Although I might disagree (or agree) with someones concept or even their delivery its a forum where ideas are exchanged back and forth and I try to keep on task with the topic(s).

Ive never understood why people get so damn mad at other people on the internet over nonsense. I imagine these people must be perpetually mad or just avoid the internet alltogether.

Can you imagine getting mad or insulted every time someone called you "insert inflammatory explicative here" or tried to get under your skin?

    I cant....

"Full Blaise or Bust" was probably not the best choice of words.

Demanding Ransom from a player in a way that can be perceived as allowing them to play here is a clear example of discouraging gameplay.
    • Demanding ransom to allow someone to use their boat.
    • Demanding ransom to allow someone to move/stable their pet.
    • Demanding ransom to stop verbally abusing a player.
    • Demanding ransom to cease sexual harassment of a player.
    • Or anything else along these lines.

The staff do not believe these acts contribute anything to the world or its community and have little place here.

The only exception is in Player vs Player situations in which all parties have adequate solutions available to balance this out.

That said you should always be careful who you upset or make enemies of as this is a felucca world. Making a ton of enemies and then being upset they are camping your house 24/7 is not a situation the staff will assist you with.

    I don't agree.

In my opinion it only warrants questioning if it can be sustained entirely out of game. (ie... mostly IRC)

^ Both of these points seem like "in game harassment" to me (nothing personal... I'd do the same to my friends.) ... I don't think you should stop them just the same way I don't feel like you should stop someone PKing (harassing, in game).

    Welcome to Fel.

^ These points on the other hand are OUTSIDE of game... and harassment on a general level.

I DO Understand the beef with this.

    ...

Ultimately this is your shard; and you're free to do with it as you please. But; meh.
