Does anyone else get this message when they click on the IRC link on the main page? [13:18:33] Running lightIRC 1.3.2 Build 135. Project home: www.lightirc.com [13:18:53] Flash policy problem. If you are the server owner, please read http://redmine.lightirc.com/projects/lightirc/wiki/Flash_Policy_setup_instructions. You need to install a flash policy daemon at eu.chat4all.org (port 843). I've tried downloading their program to fix the problem and i have no way of opening their program. Is there and easier way to get into IRC i have boards to sell and need to sell them fast!!!! Any help with this problem would be greatly appreciated.
ok I've downloaded hexchat and tried a few things like conniecting to #Renaissance but when I do im the only one in the channel... IRC has always been a challenge to me.
It must have something to do with the way you're connecting to the internet. Are you on a campus or something?
I connect through my phone I have unlimited data. but ive never had any other issues that would point me to that conclusion. I checked my firewall and the program is allowed through.

It means that the server you are trying to connect to does not accept incoming connections from a Flash-based IRC client - which is the case of the client provided on Renaissance site (lightIRC). Try typing /server us.chat4all.org or /server irc.chat4all.org to try connecting to these 2 other servers that may accept your connection and problem solved, although I'd still recommend to download a decent client (such as mIRC or hexchat) if you plan (and should) use IRC on a daily basis as it's way more convenient.
I have Hexchat and I cant get it to work. I posted the screen shots of what it is doing. I tried typing /server us.chat4all.org and /server irc.chat4all.org into the search box on explorer and got an error message on the page. Any advice for Hexchat?
Type "/server irc.chat4all.org" into the field on Hexchat where you'd type a message. Also; any time you get an error message; share it's details so we can better help you.
Audesy, I'm having the exact same issues.. downloaded this hex client thing and can't get anything to load anything, I can't even join the servers the stinkin thing came with.
Mibbit Click Server to bring up more options and fill in the info to connect Once you have it working, create and account. Then you can click on Account at the top right to add the server for auto connect Then click on Channels at the top right to add the channels to auto connect Once you have it setup you can login from any browser and auto connect.
I am also have quite the time trying to get any type of IRC to work that allows me in password protected channels. Every version of IRC client i'v tried doesn't have a prompt to input password info for channels. Thus I keep trying to get default IRC to work but it loads about 1/20 times I try to open it... not fun. I see this message sooooo many times before connecting. None of the fixes listed above do anything for me as I CAN connect sometimes. Any ideas on how I can get normal IRC to work for me more often?
Keza to join PW protected channels you type /join #{CHAN} {PASSWORD} Also HexChat can be set to auto-join channels on startup even passworded ones. Simply check the Network List and setup the chat4all network and there's an auto-join tab when you hit Edit.
