Platinum Discussion

With no harrower.... the only reliable way to get plat is leaving your PC on for 20 days unless youre a tamer and can mow down half the server and buy whatever you want. This is complete BS. Howabout we come up with some ideas for NON tamers to get plat.... Like maybe some dexxer quests or something along the lines of.

I know of several reliable ways to get platinum that remain intact:
Champion spawns
Treasure Maps of Level 5 or higher (3 for sure on every Level 6)
Boss mobs
All mobs

None of them are fountains of platinum, though, sorry. I don't think it's about tamer vs non, really, but that is something staff takes into account.

bosses take 7 ever to spawn
and i hope youre joking when you say all mobs lol.

An NPC that sells plat for gold?

So get more people together to do champs?
Farm mobs harder to spawn bosses faster. Perhaps with a group?
All mobs have a chance so kill everything you see, always.

I've got 3 platinum last 7 days killing brigands and pirates - yes, brigands and pirates - with my dexxer.
I've got 4 platinum yesterday on a Zookeeper's Quest on the same dexxer.

I imagine if I took the time to go to champ spawns and such. I really don't see a problem there.

We used to do champs atleast 2-3 times a day. After Harrowers got de-activated we do them maybe once a week.

woo hoo since harrowers gone i got 30 plat leaving my PC on while playing ps4 lol,,, maybe there isnt a problem as long as i log in those free server numbers

For a month straight....You could do that in a day or two, easily, if you actually played for it. I understand that a lot of folks think platinum should be easily obtained. I've never been of the same mind, so I have trouble seeing eye to eye with decreased production.

Soloing amibs with a dexxer, is easy and generates a decent amount of plat as well as the chance for several different rare drops that can sell for good money.

You can easily go farm the first and second tier to of most champ spawns as a solo dexxer and get plenty of plat.

As Blaise already stated, get a group together to do champs.

Platinum isn't supposed to be easy to obtain (even though it actually is ludicrously easy). You just have to actually, you know go out and spend the time to acquire it, besides sitting afk playing ps4.

It sounds like you're just lazy and want some plat fountain spawn you can 2 shot with your dexxer.

Or just buy it from other players. Gold isnt really hard to acquire. You will just get less and face more risk then tamers and bards do, but still have high gold income as dexxer or dexxer/bard.

An iteresting idea.

It could be set up so you lose money or plat in the exchange.

Lets say plat is worth 3000 per on the open market. It could cost 5000 gold per platinum,. The other way around however, you could only get 2000 gold per platinum.

This way it is always better to trade with another player, and the system as a whole is a HUGE gold/plat synch.


I also agree with blaise that platinum should be as rare as possible.

Iron-manning AMIBs is perhaps the fastest way to get platinum as a solo player. And dexers are ideal to tackle those.

If plats were being sold from NPC vendors, their value would go way down.

You're adding an infinite supply to the market.

I would want to see them 25k per plat coin, or a ridicilous value that people wouldn't mind paying if the desperately needed one. This would create a good gold sink I think.

A couple of weeks ago, I got a plat off of a mongbat. Just sayin'.

The plat fountain already flows too heavily. Count the coins on server.

I get at least 10 plat a week from PKing. That's a better drop rate than lich lords (kills : platinum drop ratio). Maybe you should become a PK.

My first few weeks here, I got 15 holiday coins and 20+ plat from playing a thief. Maybe you should become a thief.

Non tamers have their plat fountains, just need slayer instrument for bard and/or slayer weapon to speed the process up.
Champs, tmaps, amibs definately provide good quick plat (just dont die y'kno), even just generic old skool hunting will get you plat with a higher drop rate on tougher critters.

Tamers also aren't all that hard to make semi afk.

However the dexer quests (other than amib), I'd be interested in seeing...something that un-mounts you and leaves you weaponless except for a slayer for your weapon skill for the critters in the cave to carve a way to the exit. I didn't say a talking, leveling sword, but it'd be cool if it talked.
