Anyone experiencing lag or is my new computer?

Got a new pc yesterday but now I am lagging in UO. Other games don't seem to have a problem. My ping is ringing in the 400 ms. range. Any ideas?

That's quite odd! Are you still experiencing this? Most likely it's just your internet being moody.

I have a great connection with every other multiplayer game, just in UO about every 4-5 seconds my toon briefly stops for maybe a half second. So Annoying. I uninstalled and reinstalled, tried compatibility settings, ran as Administrator. Not sure what could be causing it.

I am in the Midwest using Comcast and was having similar issues last night.

Check your Razor and make sure you don't have the option 'Reduce CPU usage checked'.

Do a trace route to the server

Use any macros that make your character move with razor? Stop it.

Do you tab dance during duels?

Windowed or full screen?
Custom resolution in razor?
Does it conflict with, in game options setting, your monitor setting?

Did you remember to sacrifice for the Sosarian gods this month?

I know you said new but Windows 8 or 8.1 by chance?

Considered it to be sound related? Try disabling the card momentarily if you're comfortable with that.

Dual monitors by chance?

No Lag!

Hard to believe this was the problem but I had auto search all containers set in Razor. I unchecked that and now I am running with the best of them!

Ive had many performance issues here on UOR since I started months ago, and basically just had to accept that when I play here I need to deal with it.

There is a sticky under the guide subforum thats worth going through if you havnt yet.

In the end, many ppls "lag" and performance issues seem to be related to server protection that has been activated against DDOS attacks.

It typically causes "lag" and "stuttering" in game exactly as you describe below.

There is a thread in my history where I went into GREAT detail about the large amount of effort I placed into figuring out my personal performance issues with UOR which unfortunately still remain and are most likely from the aforementioned DDOS protection.

GL hopefully you find a definitive and fixable answer but....sounds like your issues mimic mine.
