Just food for thought..... I love a good call in.... I feel its another X factor in UO PVP..... but with that being said... I get the feeling a lot of people are just on stand by for when a group of reds roll in and take out your farmer then the pvp chars come in 5 or 6 deep.... once again I love a good call in but if all the people with pvp chars on stand by were out and about actively seeking fights the pvp scene would be pretty awesome... Just throwing it out there
Good concept, but too hard to grasp on to for some that want an active scene, also need to be out actively on/out for pvp to get it.
lol got jumped by 8 nerds the other day like that, 7!!! of them called in once I was engaged with the 8th (was farming with blade spirits, blue guy flags me then 7 rush in lmao), after surviving the first dump thanks to gm scribe, 4!!!! of them were spamming nothing but paralyze while 2 were trying to stun and 2 were trying to hit with melee. 8.....vs 1 naked guy with 30 of each reg and some pots. 4 trapped pouches wasn't nearly enough lol If you're in a group of 8, at least let like 2-3 of you fight vs the 1 so there's somewhat of a fight. It's just retarded to mow someone down with 8 like that. No point in restocking and going back to the dungeon against 8, 2-3 vs 1 is challenging and fun but 8 is just dumb, not challenging, not fun, and causes people to go do something else rather than regear.
" I get the feeling a lot of people are just on stand by for when a group of reds roll in and take out your farmer then the pvp chars come in 5 or 6 deep.." Question. What's the difference between the two groups? Lot of reds roll in ? Pvp chars come in ? By all means this does not apply to all reds. But, isn't it true many reds are on stand by when their blue scout checks out hunting spots for victems? Also pker hunters are as traditional to game as pkers. Just curious, I don't pvp myself, so from a non pvper veiw point, sounds as if it balances out.
Just saying if more people were out actively rolling it would make for a better pvp scene. Just saying its a shame to check iconic pvp hot spots and it beat empty most of the time. Id much rather fight at bucs than at Ice or Destard... But you take what you can get.
I believe you are 100% correct. Call-ins are the norm right now because they are effective. While this is not optimal for server health, it continues to happen because none of the groups who are capable of consistently Calling-in are willing to take a disadvantage (including my group). I predict that this behavior will not stop without balance changes from dev.
I don't think that's necessarily true, I run around on an orange pretty frequently and take whatever fights are out there. Yesterday I sat in Moonglow as a group that had 2 people on mine came through only wanting to play grab ass for a couple seconds then pike through a gate. I'm pretty sure the problem here isn't one the dev. can fix, it's a problen of people not willing to die. I'm not saying our group is never guilty of staying out of fights that don't seem in our favor, but more often than not we fight in situations that don't suit us simply because I think we are more confident in our capability. Edit: I also agree that the call ins are not good for the health of the pvp scene and would prefer if oranges were just out fighting.
most pvpers on this server are not good enough around to stick around for a 1v1 so unfortunately there is call-ins.. its how pvp goes on this server and most likely any server. the developers cant do anything about it unless they make pvp consentual and with this I don't not agree with
I'm just stating my opinion and you feel it is necessary to attack me and my typos. Find something better to do while your on break at your piece of shit job Kane.. Maybe go troll my facebook somemore.
ok but we don't understand what message you are trying to convey "the developers cant do anything about it unless they make pvp consentual and with this I don't not agree with" Can you rephrase this in a way we can understand? It's entirely possible we agree with you. But we don't know what you are saying because you can't communicate coherently. Calm the fuck down and stop posting pictures of your journal. If I had a dime for every time you recalled from me I'd be able to send you to tutoring.
the developers can make changes that influence how field combat works. i don't think you can argue against that.
hey amfekk simmer down bro Anyway, I see it as a matter of player behavior. That said, I'll happily call in on most people because I don't want to chase them through 5 gheal wands. Everyone has their own idea of what the ideal 1v1 is, and I don't have an patience for people who want to offscreen and use wands.
That's not a typo, it's incomprehensible babble that I legitimately didn't understand. Who do you think has the shit job? The guy who can't put a sentence together and loses his shit over a video game or the guy who was just trying to understand what someone is trying to say, and gets berated over it?
