Why is afk unattended buying of reagents with a macro okay?

I'm not sure what point you are trying to make...nothing changes the fact that 1000 gold left the economy, it's gone, forever, poof...now multiply that by the amounts that people use regs and see how much actually leaves the economy.

23 mage shops X conservatively 2 vendors inside each= 46 purchases per hour of 999 each reg X 41 hours (ramp up time excluded entirely) in 1 weekend= 1,884,114 each reg

6 of those regs cost 3 gp per= 33,914,052

2 of those regs cost 4 gp per = 7,536,456

41,450,508 gold per weekend. You really have 41.5 mil to get that threat rolling this next weekend????

I don't like the rules either.... I don't like how the insanely rich in the United States can make money hand over foot without leaving the comfort of their yacht or a big tower with their name on it. I don't like how the poor people keep getting poorer and the rich keep getting richer. The rules suck... Lets hate all the rules and go full out socialism to make it fair for everyone! It's just simply not fair that a select few can manipulate a loophole in their favor, while others cant.

Meanwhile, millions of tax payer dollars are going to college students who need "therapy" because they got their panties in a wad when someone wrote Trump 2016 with white chalk...

You guys know, you have AFK reg buyer #1 from another shard on your side (@Chris ) and can relax already although the poll in this thread clearly shows a desire for ATTENDED gameplay from most of UO:R. It's a shame, that such a desire is not seriously considered and downplayed by Staff. You guys are also downplaying reg profits on purpose and act like philantrophes. And even if you might be that good hearted (e.g. Hydrox's Freesist event is really a great thing), there is the silent 5-10 other AFK reg buyers, that definitely do it for the easy and risk-free profit.

LMAO at the trickle-down economy arguments in this thread. "Keep letting me make dollars AFK and I'll keep tossing you some dimes every once in a while!" I love it.

I just noticed last week that I forgot to trash barrel a years worth of welfare platinum on each of 3 accounts. So just in case anyone really does buy into trickle-down economics and thinks the only way to get freesist sessions is to let people amass gold AFK, I hereby pledge I'll fund resist sessions for the next few months.

Specious arguments aside, I see three facts coming out of this thread:

1) we have an rules system here wherein some AFK moneymaking activities have GUMPs and some do not and it seems that the line between them is based on subjective assessments of how profitable they are and the exact manner by which they generate gold

2) we have vendor buy/sell prices which have been partly adjusted already but still intentionally allow profitable AFK activities

3) a significant portion of the population doesn't seem to be in favor of AFK moneymaking

#3 seems to be pretty well determined here by the poll, but maybe we need to split (1) and (2) out into their own threads separately, as solutions to each could be independent.

4) Noone that buys really gives a shit if there's a gump or not. #thefunnypart
