Tbh, the proper reaction would have been to ban amfekk Shenanigator from this auction and make all his previous bids in this auction V O I D. I really hate to see people screwing around in auctions.

I was (when canadian $ worth something) a major ebay buyer/seller and there are always a way to retract a bid until thr last 12 hours.
Maybe we could use an approche like that.
If not idea, but it can happen.(we are human!)
On ebay, if the winner of the auction dont pay, they get negative feedbacks and the item could be sold to others bidders( no obligation to buy ). They call it "second chance" if i remember right.

I'm pretty sure erl pulled out when he wanted to reset after fek bid it up, was in the lead, and then pulled out yet managed the re-renter at 2. Pretty sure he doesn't want to deal with an auctioneer that allows that. Pulling out doesn't always work.

My mistake @Dachshund. This should have been a smooth auction for a great statue but it got shit on. I am not one to retract bids but I am still willing to pay 2mil for this statue. Unfortunately I won't pay more.
