The situation right now

I didnt think you could anyway... Is this confirmed? I tried it once with my,mare and it didnt seem to gain anything... Are they actually gaining or just think they are?

I don't understand.... I've gained skill during instances, definitely. Are you guys referring to something else?

I can't be for certain, but I thought I heard something about that having been disabled a while back when someone was in there hitting a dragon for lumberjacking.

I got a few LJ gains and lots of healing gains doing scrolls last week. Maybe they disappeared upon exiting, but I don't think so...

edit: I also noticed there is karma/fame loss with death in the instances, but there doesn't seem to be any way to gain.

Vandalin, the event center is what they're talking about. The area you're teleported to after completing a scroll.

What if the only way to gain skill while a loop macro is going is if you are outside of guard zone and not inside a house?

I do a lot of macroing in the wild and rarely face reprocussions.
No more re-stock agent bank macros.
People who are at the bank will actually be active players... mostly.
Still gonna have some glittery bank sittin' stiffs.

For the record, upon returning to UO I asked a few old acquaintances about the health of the server before spending time rebuilding my accounts. BlackEye was one of the people I talked to. He convinced me the server was healthy and that I should play here. I suppose one could argue that he just wanted another mark to rob but I think he likes (loves?) this place.

But on a more constructive note, would it be possible for the scheduled events (CTFs, 1v1/2v2 Tornys) to start without a GM? I understand why the major events like Christmas needs a GM to operate, but could the scheduled minor events be automated?
