Does anyone use stealth for anything besides thieving/house looting? I've heard the formula for tracking pits tracking and detect hidden against hiding and stealth. In that case, with gm stealth a gm tracker should not be able to find you too often. But somewhere I read that tracking is super OP and stealth doesn't help to block it. Is it worth having stealth on an alt to spy in a dungeon while farming?
Is there any sort of counter effect of having gm tracking on the character that already has gm hiding and stealth, to further mitigate that percentage?
^This And I've used hiding/stealth on secondary and tertiary chars to help me "assassinate" people before. I use that term because I don't really murder the way most other pks tend to. I find a mark and try to get up close and personal, as opposed to just barreling in or gating with others to kill at random.
% Chance of tracking = (Tracking + Detect Hidden + Random 1-20) / (Hiding + Stealth) * 50 So a player with GM Tracking and Stealth would have approximately a 50% chance of tracking a player with GM Hiding and Stealth. ^^this is from UO stratics, YES I KNOW THIS IS NOT STRATICS, but to answer the original question this is the formula. The % might be different here.
I think you meant a player with gm tracking and detect hidden ( not stealth). So just gm track vs gm hiding/stealth would be 25-30%.
I will tell you the formula. The formula is my newb tamer with 40 tracking finds my friend who is gm hide/stealth all the time. See formula below... tracking > hide + stealth
