Yes, lootwise they suck compared to their difficulty. Plus they have no monster loot bag. Add that to the change list.
I honestl feel that a lot of monsters kind of need a revamp or a bit of tweaking - either to their loot or difficulty, depending.
Just to add on to my previous statement - I would much like to see monsters have their difficulty increased in various ways and their loot set to match their difficulty because too many monsters are just a joke to kill unfortunately. There are obviously the high-end tougher ones like balrons and dragons, but they are still nothing really when put up against a tamer's 2 dragons and a mare combo. Specifically, I think it would be cool to have some of the more medium-range monsters get a boost in both difficulty and gold/loot because they go entirely ignored for the most part - most elementals come to mind, and it would be nice to see creatures like ettins actually be somewhat formidable like they once were in older Ultima games (well, Ultima IV anyway). This would help open up new and alternative areas to hunt monsters.
I see what you're saying Alex. And i agree with a difficulty bump as long as it doesn't mean creating more mobs that outclass meleers. Otherwise the only thing that happens is tamers have more options. But would be great to see ettins, trolls, elementals and others become hunting options rather than annoyances. Right now it seems like there are only 1 or 2 rooms in a dungeon that are worth it and they just become farm spots. Everything else is ignored or considered a waste of time.
There are much more worthy farming spots out there. People just focus on the hotspots, that become much worse because of their attention then other spots. I don't like to name the dozen spots that can easily keep up to the known hotspots because of obvious reasons. Just try something out and get value per hour stats. You will be surprised. Especially when you combine several slow spawning spots together into a farming route.
