That's a very sad yet beautiful account @Icewalker. I'm glad you old friends got together again. I always played Great Lakes. It was a beta shard and I stayed on after release. Those were very fun days in UO, when smiths would set up shop at the Britain smithy and take repair orders from players, or when you hunted for a player scribe to make you that last scroll you needed to complete your spellbooks. To me, one of the most memorable moments was when Rainz killed Lord British in Beta. The lag was horrible and I was in Britain when it happened though I didn't actually see it. Oh man yes that brings back memories, smithys at Brit, it was like going to work, get up have your coffee, start hustling and making money, repair orders etc. Yes, I remember when I finished my spell book I was so happy. Believe it or not the most memorable for me back in the day was, Moonglow, tailor shop specifically , there would be like a good 6 of us, we would always meet in there, I remember I would always get bullied by a guy named Kefka, lol Second was Annie And Lord Robin, the first PKs I ever met. Annie had some of the biggest bounties on her, it was nuts, lord robin, would always wear a plate helm and a red sash nothing else, naked! Stand at Brit cross roads no mount. And just wait . The moment your walking and you would see him dead. He ended up becoming my best friend in the game, because I kept going back trying to fight lol...
So many people complain about thieves + pks and think the answer is trammel. I will always remember having blue characters kite spawn on me, or do just enough damage to get looting rights etc.. at least here you have options
Well I ended up here more or less by misstake... I cant login to OSI, simple as that and I do not bother with it as it is so nice to be here really. OSI UO doesnt seems like something I wish to play anyway, even if I used to like the 3D client 10 years ago. The Necromancer made it funnier for a while but I got bored of it all then. 3D games did appeal a lot but they never got as good as UO is and the best part is the skill-system and lack of levels. I chatted with some old UO/Guildmates a few weeks ago and the community we used to have on Europe is gone and one close friend there has passed so there is no reason for me to get back there, even if I was able to use my old account. One of them made a char here but she is occypied with other games but will show up one day she promised. Felucca is thrilling, no doubt about it and I did spend some time in Felucca on Europe, mostly for the nice loot and double ore and boards and I had to pay the price a couple of times tooo oooOOOOoooooooOOOOoooo, but it doesnt matter if you die a couple of times really but it sure feels good if you manage to take down a PKer, which is rare though for the common PvM player, like me, even if I done my far part of PVP but mostly I ended up oooOOOooo. I did a lot of RP-PVP though, it is: Smack your enemy around when you have a reaon for it IC, mostly in the form of tactical battles, not 1 vs 1, which was very rare from my part. When Despice was filled with tamers on Trammel, two of us used a moon stone (allows you to get to felucca direct, point to point) and had almost the whole Felucca Despice for our selves, untill 4 mages came, drawing a Blood golem and locked us two in with it using energy walls. oooOOOoooo.
