Boss spawn rates

    to promote contention of 'real estate' in game
    aka pks check these known hot spots often while the blues are farming for the prize (statue)

    So much opposition to an idea to make more "fun" spots or existing spots more exciting to a point where you can't run 3 of them at once, with simple fixes.

    No wonder this server gets stuck in "ruts". Sweet fuck. What a fucking nightmare proposing betterment is here.

    Won't be happening again that's for sure haha.

    Dude, you're proposing adding a faster spawn, altering the potential gold generation capacity. That has a direct effect on the economy. There is already a HUGE potential to generate wealth out there. Not to mention, that particualr spot has the chance of generating wealth AFK. The last thing the server needs is a way to make more/faster/easier gold.

    There are TONS of under-farmed "fun" spots as you might have noticed from my post. When was the last time you farmed those? Or how many of those have you not farmed?

    Bosses are there with various difficulties already. (few examples)
    Easy: troll, harpy, skeleton
    Med: gazer, titan, blood ele
    Hard: balron, ancient, dragon
    If increased difficulties is your goal, switch locations. 2 dexxers working together is very powerful, and done well can accomplish almost everything (add bard skills, then everything)

    With gold not as your goal, and social activity is, I would recommend dungeon clearing type runs, start at lvl 1 and clear all lvls. Maybe pause at boss areas for the hopes you get lucky.

    Troll spawn was a poor choice to base the argument around because it's very entry level and has had some abuses when it comes to afk farming.

    Another recommendation to get social would be watch PS and Paws activity for hard mode hunts and missions.

    If social is you +1 farming always together, I'd recommend just increasing location difficulty.

    I've farmed mostly all of the ones you've named.

    Dude I'm proposing a faster spawn of 100 GP trolls and like-loot creatures. Heaven forbid. If you want GOLD you go farm the big spots you so aptly mentioned and continue to do so.

    I want the FUN of doing a challenging BOSS spawn that takes effort.

    Make the fucking things drop 0 gold and you have kill 100s to get to the boss for all I care, just make the boss spawns harder/more challenging

    The fact that there is afk farming isn't a valid reason for not making it a better spawn. The fact that afk farming is allowed to exist is appalling

    Don't have 2-3 tamers or a group of 4-5 guys. Tried it a few times with two guys and I'm not skillful enough to run a champ with two guys, unfortunately.

    treehugger this weekend is the PS hard mode hunt - you start with almost nothing and only use what you find on the way.

    if you want something challenging whether or not its a boss check it out. will also be very social.

    I agree, AFK farming is stupid. The problem is that all the systems in place have to cater to the potential of abuse; and they WILL be abused. It's the same old story of a few ruining the fun for the masses. Take dreads as the most recent example. Increasing the spawn of certain areas would be more enjoyable. Unfortunately it would lead to adverse effects on the economy.

    UO has always been a strong game because of the options available to find enjoyment. Last night we took out 3 boats, hired a bunch of escorts and stood strong while we tossed 20+ nets all at once. It was fun as hell. UO is what you make of it.

    And I also agree that the shard is being hit with a wave of low risk money earning. We can only speculate on the root cause.

    There are supposed to be easier bosses for entry level players!!! Troll is one of them!!! Go farm Ancient Wyrms for an ElderWyrm if you want a challenge. Hell, go do Theratans at the swamp for an infiltrator, that is challenging, AND I have yet to see a PK there. There are already PLENTY of challenging boss spawns. Why want to make ALL of them challenging? Let those low lvl ones as they are for new players!

    Also I've farmed balrons and dragons and all that to wits end.

    Why is it so hard to understand that these low-mid level boss spawns are under utilized and things like increasing spawn rate would make them more attractive to those of us who play the game for other reasons than the accumulation of pixels?

    Why should a low level player have to wait 3 minutes for ONE troll to spawn?

    Because maybe he won't be killing them at the same rate you are, and will NOT have to wait 3 minutes.

    Yes it is. Its a lot easier said then done to fix as people master razor and strive to achieve automation more as a goal to see if it is possible.
    Telamon has taken tons and tons of strides to prevent it, but he is not all knowing. People trying to beat the system is inevitable.
    A little adjustment of the way you go about your next farming experience, seems like as easier fix them a game adjustment by staff the could promote automation and abuse on a function thats been around a while.
    I guess it's a pick and choose your battle situation. Passionate people get defensive because it comes off like your saying "this place stinks, fix this and everything will be better"
