There's no bigger range. It's limited by the packets from the server. You can just "see" more of the map (without populated dynamic items)
I would like to see a smaller game window with less resolution actually. Lets get down to fuzzy pixels. I bet people would still pay 100mill for those sexy sandals. you know who you are. YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE
Wowwww.... amazing feedback so far. And yes, some of you guys were right. I also staffed on DefianceUOR, old and new, Perilous, UORevived(owner), In Vas Mani(owner) and some more. Interesting that some of you know that . The community is "very small". So everybody knows everybody. What I ever wanted was to bring players all over the world my own feeling in Ultima Online playstyle. To your questions: No panic guys. I don't want to ruin the game. I love the "old" client feeling myself. I just want to create a fully playable client which is very performant with a fluent playstyle where a 3D-engine renders 2D-Arts. That means everything stays the same. So why should an advanced client be illegal to the server? It is not a cheat engine or something like that. Maybe I will upload a video these days. The project will stay open source for everyone. And it is very important to get all your opinions. Greetings
I gonna prepare a prealpha these days Sir if I allowed to use some of Renaissance graphics for the client.
Like I promised before here is a small test showcase. But remember that this is just a test case. Also remember that the video recording was lagging and not the game itself . First original client and then fluent advanced client afterwards. Also the login already looks like this (for example with realtime patch infos on the right side):
@3HMonkey It looks unfamiliar, but in my opinion it's very cool, I'm much farther than you from the computer and I can say you're done! However, this is only an iceberg virgin, I think this innovation will largely affect many aspects of the game. It is interesting to look at the development of events! I will repeat, in spite of what will come of this, you respect
Hello Sir and thank you for your reply. Like I told before the project started in 2006 and stopped in the middle of the process. A lot of functions and so on were not implemented. For example the handling of a lot of packages of RunUO. So I started ich working on that and already implemented the most of them and also missing animations and and and. The picture of the last post is just a fully funktional concept. For the current sprint I just try to realize a playable old school Client without the use of razor. Later on I try to add razors functions to the client option framework. This will be the first beta version. I personally like the fluent animations and rendering process. Maybe people gonna activate the light levels again if there is a rendered directional light
<<< Rendering and smooth movements is certainly good, and in general combining several programs in one with the preservation of antiquity and classics is excellent, but I would like to see how the battle takes place on this engine, because there is a slight feeling that something is under water, especially the main character! Just can not yet imagine how the battle will be going, before everything was sharp and right in my opinion, but how it will look now to me is not entirely clear! First impression is good!
Great idea and good work! For this to work we would need a public GIT repo and all the steps required to build the client ourselves. No offense, but no one should trust any executable received by a 3rd party without examining the additional code required to make it work.
That was the plan . You will be allowed to get a fully build client and alternativ you'll allowed to build the client yoursef.
Why do you have tons of black boxes in the center of your 2d client that only go away when you walk over them? That would drive me crazy! I only get occasional ones at the very far corners of my screen when running on a mount at my res. I do wish there was a way to make the 2d client move fluid at like 30fps instead of the 15 or w/e it is locked at but after 20 years I'm almost used to the built in stutter.
@Dr Satan : Did you really see the whole video?? @3HMonkey I think the video looked damn cool and I look forward to use your client. Very very well done.
This looks great, but without Chris weighing in i am not sure, we can simply start using a different client, this should really be ironed out before it goes any further, also to make sure you don't put in time for naught.
Hello guys, I already talked to Chris. We were talking about the client and so on. I am allowed to work on it if I keep it open source to prevent "cheating"-features like orion does. I really enjoy that some of you guys like the work I am doing in my spare time. Thats an amazing motivation boost. Thank you guys for this I think about starting an uo gold donation instead of bitcoins like other repos do PS: I also have another project. I have been creating a macro engine like Razors but with the use of features like auto completion with JavaScript as scriptiong language. I am very creative at the moment, so I need to make use of it
