In one of the first shards I played the Gipsy Camp just outside Minoc was used as a "player" market. A market filled with player vendors where I used to go to, to buy just about everything. It was a guarded zone and thieving was disabled in the area, making everything safe. The gipsy camp isn't currently being used and I thought the introduction of a market would be good use. Let me know what you think
I agree with One. Also, it would be sort of unfair to ppl who put effort into getting houses at prime vendor locations like Ocllo, moongates, Yew bank, etc. But I really like the idea of making use of such areas in the world, maybe something else?
One and Jakob make great points but I support the idea of doing something with this spot. Maybe more like a fleamarket or one-off type thing instead of permanent vendors. Lots of potential.
It's just that the UO map is really cool with so many places for us to be doing things. So I hate to just do nothing because of mechanics.
I've always thought it unusual that UOR has no renaissance fair. This area could be fabulous to hold a player event and those tents could be used to hawk wares from, get a palm reading, buy an unusual pickle, and maybe even ostards playing poker painted on black velvet. Elsewhere set up an area for jousting, plays, archery contests, magic shows, skald recitals, and a music concert. Leave it Fel... hire real "guards" and "detectives".
