I have read in several guides to taming on this server that the spawn rate on dagger isle has decreased, but I don't find this to be true. I think it is more the spawn is spawning in everyone's fortress or keep and since no one kills it, it just makes it appear that the spawn rates have decreased. Against my better judgement and laziness, I have decided to make a tamer and I find that all of the snow leopards are in peoples houses, which makes me want to make a tamer even less, but If I want to be competitive (PVM wise) on this server I need either a tamer or a bard, or better yet a tamer bard. Anyway I was just curious if other people have noticed this as well when they were doing the dagger isle taming portion.
I actually noticed this too. I've set up my boat a few times over the last week and gave up on taming pretty quickly. Most of the spawn seems to be in houses.
Mhh, to be honest, I did not notice this at all. I did not do the boat-taming-thingy though, i just ran around and tamed stuff. Yes, there is the occasional panther or wolf stuck in a castle or fortress but each time going around the isle i managed to tame 10-15 monsters, regardless. This is about ~3 weeks old information. I GMed 10 days ago or so, and started late may. All in all, I actually dreaded starting a tamer much more than it actually ended up paining me to skill him up. The last 5 percent hurt most since even 15 tamed dragons did not gain me even once. I eventually just stuck to retamed bulls and they took me there. 50-90 Taming though? I found taming to be a breeze in that bracket. You just have to "force" yourself to do it 1-2 hours a day or so to get some regular gains in there and it will never feel like you are stuck.
I will get it eventually, i'm too old and stubborn to give up, but my sampire on OSI was much easier to train than taming
I recently was running around Dagger Isle farming wolves, bears, and jaguars looking for Zookeeper quest animals, and I actually found that the spawn was pretty high. Perhaps you ran into cases where people had already killed off a lot of the spawn in the process of hunting Zookeeper quest animals or taming themselves. I only ran into maybe 2-3 wolves inside courtyards, and never saw more spawn inside.
When I was at the level where people said I should be doing snow leopards I couldn't find many snow leopards to tame, but walruses and polar bears were fairly abundant so I did those instead. Making a tamer goes pretty quick here compared to other places I've played.
For the Dagger spawn portion of taming training, I just hung around Honesty Shrine. A few of each of the animals needed spawns and it seems to spawn relatively quickly
I used a boat on Dagger, N of Spirituality a bit. Used a 2nd tamer to increase difficulty and a 3rd account to lure them to the boat. Went pretty quick
I skipped dagger. Did scorps all the way to 71.1. Plus you might capture a few king scorpions or rattlesnakes along the way. Compassion is the way to go!
I feel like arctic animals are the better finds.. scorps and snakes are easy! arctic animals in higher demand.
bwahahaha! there's just no stopping the punnomenon that is Wylwrk! no post, no matter how obscure is safe from his wit!
